"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Milla Jovovich explains Ever’s name, shares photo

Actress Milla Jovovich, 31, has written to fans on her official website, explaining 4-week-old Ever Gabo’s name, and sharing an image of her daughter.

The name Ever is a Scottish boy’s name — Paul [W.S. Anderson] has Scottish blood in him(not to mention two tartans in his family!) so we wanted to give her aname that reflected her "Celtic" roots, while her middle name Gabo– pronounced "Gabeau" — is a mixture of my parents names! The first twoletters are after my mom’s first name, Galina and the last two lettersare after my dad’s first name Bogie!

  1. Cate Says:

Um, really? I’ve never heard of Ever as a Scottish name. Does she mean Evan? This is why I wish people would do their research before naming their children!

  2. Ans Says:

What a beautiful child! I see a lot of Milla in her.
While she explained the origins of the names, she didn’t really explain why. I think the name Ever suits a girl, but it would have been nice if she shared why she chose a boy’s name.

  3. Ivey Says:

OK so I googled Ever, to see what I could find, didn’t find anything Scottish related but did find an Actress named Ever–
    Ever Carradine.

So apparently its been used already for a girls name–if that helps any.

  4. Stacey Says:

According to baby names, Ever is hebrew.

“From the Hebrew meaning “beyond”, “pass over; the other side”. In the Old Testament, Ever was a descendant of Shem, son of Noah.”

    I like it.

  5. ella Says:

babynamesworld.com says Ever is a Hebrew boy’s name meaning “beyond” or “other side.”

I think Ever is a pretty name!

  6. Pam Says:

Whatever the name actually means, it’s obvious Milla and Paul put a lot of thought into choosing it. I like that they honored their families.

    And Ever is just breathtaking.

  7. FC Says:

Aww, Ever is so cute! I’m always going to be a soft touch for photos of babies sleeping, I’m sure. But, honestly, she’s a little heartbreaker already. :)

  8. Annie-Kate Says:

    I agree with Cate.
What often happens is that books or websites often report origins and meanings of names incorrectly. Its often best to double check in a few websites/books before settling of something because of the origin/meaning.
As for Gabo, i’m not a fan of combining parents names at all, unless it keeps names whole. Jamie-Lynn (I think thats how she spells it) is a good example of a parent name combination. But combining two names together often ends in trouble. Gabo, for example, reminds me of “Garbo” which is what we call Garbage Drivers.

  9. Vanessa Says:

Ever is definitely gonna be a pretty girl when she’s older! She’s really sweet! Lots of Milla in her!

  10. daisy Says:

Mila is correct, well, kind of. Ever is an old English name, meaning great strength. However, Iver is a Scottish name. Kind of ironic, given the Scottish and Irish histories, lol.

Besides, it’s her baby, and she can name her whatever she wants without having to justify where she got if from, why she chose it, and that it’s origins are correct. She doesn’t need to research it in a book to make sure those origins and spelling are correct, just to satisfy a bunch of people she doesn’t know.

  11. Taylor Says:

    She is a beautiful baby!

  12. gianna Says:

Don’t like the name ever, but the baby is beautiful. She sure looks a lot like Milla.

  13. Meagan Says:

Awww…she is a beautiful baby girl! She looks like both of them she is kinda in between the two so you cant really say who she looks like perfectly proportioned! I love the name is definately different and beautiful!

  14. Campbell Says:

I think the name is fresh and sweet for a girl. And when I saw that pic I gasped, she is angelic.

  15. Erika Says:

Gorgeous baby! I can tell they delivered at Cedars Sinai by the blanket. We have the same blanket from our daughter’s birth and everytime I see one, it’s a giveaway that the baby was delivered there. :-)

  16. Tracy Says:

    Awwww! She is SO beautiful!!!

  17. doeadear Says:

That is one breath-takingly beautiful child.

  18. Tarsha Says:

    She’s a doll….very cute baby.

  19. Ever Campa Says:

    Hi,

Wow, for some reason i started to research my first name, Ever. I have never met someone by the same name as I. I am a male, and hispanic aswell; never thought of my name be suited for a female, but come to think about it, it sounds pretty awesome! And yes Ever Gabo is a gorgeous baby =).
