that hair reminds me of when i brush my hair! this means that her hair is curly! if you are interested in defrizzing her hair so that you are able to leave it down, here is some curly hair advice:
NEVER brush her hair when it is dry
ease yourself into not brushing it when it is wet (i just run my fingers through my hair when rinsing out conditioner in the shower)
when she’s older put product in it (like mousse or serum)
shampoo is not good for curly hair, some extreme people only wash their once a week and just condition!
just some help in how to embrace her curls, from a curly girl : )

I love Anya! She’s my girl, and that first photo of her rocks! I just love her with her hair all wild and flowing around her face. It’s a cute look for her. And I’m starting to think she looks a like you, Danielle.
And, yes, I love the other photos, but the first and last are my favorites. The big and bright smiles do me in every time.

I just looovvvee this girl…she’s soo adorable and right photogenic. Her cheeks are so adorable…and her eyes are soo amazing..I’m telling you she’s gonna be right up there with violet, suri, shiloh, and maybe jennifer lopez’s baby. She has some star potential. I love her…God Bless your family. She’s already two and a half..my son is gonna be 3 in april..when is her birthday again..is she older than my son?? just a question.

Aw, I love the Anya updates. She’s growing up to be such a lovely little girl. She reminds me soo much of my little cousin Scarlet in the photos with her crazy hair, (little Scarlet has gorgeous curls) she’s pretty close in age to Anya, only she has very blue eyes. I’ll have to post a photo sometime!

So cute! But how can she have so much hair?
My son is only a month and a half older than Anya — he was born 9/6/05 — and we’ve never cut his hair. But it’s barely beginning to hang in his eyes, and it hardly reaches past his shirt collar in the back.
It will be a while before he reaches Ryder Robinson levels!

My son Oliver just pointed at the screen and said “baby”! It made me laugh as he was born 6 weeks later than Anya.
Danielle, we were pregnant at the same time and it has been really cool to see how Anya is developing because Oli is a similar age. I was relieved to hear that Anya would not wear her hat at Halloween because I could not get him to wear his Yoda ears and I felt really disappointed. Now I know it is just “that age”!
Anya is so beautiful and you should be very proud. Though she is certainly not a baby anymore. Time for another soon?

Here are a few more details from her earlier posts about the camera….
Photo Note: Since you asked, Josh took these photos with a Nikon D70 (digital SLF) with a 50 mm fixed lens, but you can probably get the same results with the Nikon D40. These photos were taken outdoors, but people have asked how Josh gets such great photos indoors. Here’s his tip: using a bounce flash, tilt the flash 3/4 up. Yep, she’s got curly hair! It’s beautiful the way you are doing it now, fine and wispy, but if you want to bring out the gorgeous ringlets, comb it with a wide tooth comb when it’s wet, spray in a little spray gel, and then don’t touch it til it’s dry.
