Yes, my mistake. I was reading it at about 3:00 a.m. this morning after nursing my own newborn. My eyes and mind were playing tricks on me. I am expecting to get my sanity back any day now.

Lisa, it only says he’s over his birth weight. Nothing at all about doubling it. Babies lose weight at birth and then get back up to birth weight. I’m pretty sure that’s what she meant.

Lisa, she said he was over his birth weight, she didn’t say he was over double his birth weight.

I read that the baby weighed 7 pounds something. She says that he is over his birth weight at 4 weeks old. I find that hard to believe since he would need to weigh over 14 pounds. At 4 weeks old. My second son was 10 pounds at birth and didn’t weigh that at 4 weeks, and my third son who is now 8 weeks old weighed 7-6 at birth and is now now just over 10. Is it a misprint or an exaggeration maybe?

how funny about the umbilical stump. while it is kinda gross, i kept both of my kids. it reminds me of that brief “getting to know you” time in a newborns life.
