Red Sox pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka and wife expecting second child
Red Sox star pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka believes the birth of his second child this spring will help his performance next season. Daisuke, 27, and his journalist wife Tomoyo Shibata expect their second child to be born at the start of the 2008 season, but Daisuke speculated the birth won’t be a distraction; he expects the birth will help him win his second straight World Series for the Red Sox.
It will be the best source to give me power. I will aim for a second straight World Series title. Personally I will have to achieve more and I am convinced I can do better than what I did this season.
Daisuke and Tomoyo, a former reporter for Nippon TV in Japan, also have a 2-year-old daughter, Niko.
