Actress Jill Hennessy, 38, and her husband Paolo Mastropietro welcomed their second son on Wednesday, November 21st in NYC, her rep confirms first to CBB. Baby Gianni joins big brother Marco, 4.
The pregnancy was announced in June. In August, Jill discussed how much ‘more relaxed’ she was with parenthood the second time around, despite being stumped for baby names!

I love the name and it goes well with Marco.
Question: I just saw this at People.com and they have it listed as ‘People Exclusive’ but it’s been up at CBB for awhile!! Why do they have it as exclusive when they didn’t get the information first?
Sarah’s note: I don’t know. From my end, I emailed Cara, Jill’s rep, last week after the photos came out with a few of you saying that she no longer looked pregnant. She emailed me back around 1:30 today with the name and birthdate. I posted it at 1:38 and now People.com has posted it at 3.
They know we had it up an hour and a half before they did, but chose to post it as an exclusive for whatever reason. No big deal as it will be everywhere soon enough, but thank you for noticing. We love the occasional times we can bring you news first and exclusives and it’s nice to know it’s recognized.

I love love the name Gianni, it was one of the names I suggested for Jill’s baby. It sounds great with the brother marco and the last name.

So it appears that the people who said that it didn’t look like she was pregnant anymore in the photos of her and Marco last week were right. That said, however, I wonder why Gianni wasn’t with her and Marco on that outing? I’m sure there was a good reason for him not being with them, and I am not complaining by any means. I am simply curious about why she chose to leave the little one home.
Personally, I am a bit surprised that she was out at all so soon after giving birth and having a newborn to deal with. I would think she’d be exhausted….but she doesn’t look it, nor does she look like she has just given birth (other than the fact that she no longer looks pregnant, that is!)! I really wonder how all of these celebs do it!

Gianni is a very rare name in Italy right now. Giovanni is a lot more popular.

I’m guessing she left the little one home so she could have some alone time with her older son. I’m assuming that he may have felt overwhelmed with having another sibling competing for mommy and daddy’s attention or just the excitement of having a new baby brother. Even new mommies need a break every now and then. Anyhow, congrats on the new baby. I do love the name !
