Wife, children of former college football star killed in car wreck
Siran Stacy, a star running back at the University of Alabama and former top draft pick of the Philadelphia Eagles, lost his wife and four of his children to an automobile accident Nov. 19. The only survivors of the crash are Siran and his 3-year-old daughter Shelly; Killed were Siran’s wife Ellen, 36, their daughters Lequisa, 18, Sidney, 8, Ellie, 2 and the couple’s only son, Bronson, 10.
According to police, the van being driven by Siran was stopped for a red light along a four-lane stretch of U.S. Route 84 in Alabama. When the light turned green, they proceeded to cross the intersection when they were struck on the passenger side by a pick-up truck, which was traveling on the wrong side of the road. Investigators have been unable to determine why the pick-up was in the wrong lane, for its driver was also killed on impact.
Funeral services have been held for all of the victims; Siran and Shelly, who were both injured in the crash, have since been released from the hospital. Information on a fund established to assist Siran with the expenses associated with the accident is available here.

OMG……. That Is So Sad *CRIES*

What a tragic and horrific story. How completely and utterly devastating for Siran and his daughter.
I lost my youngest sister suddenly and tragically 12 weeks ago, so can understand in some way what Siran must be going through, but to lose five members of your family at the one time is just unspeakably awful. What a massive and incomprehensable loss. I’m just in tears imagining the pain he must be in, which is surely beyond the realm of most people’s imagination.
My thoughts are with Siran and his daughter in these awful, dark days… I am sure there are many people all over the world thinking of and praying for them at this time, and I hope that may offer some very small comfort, though really, there are no words…

There just aren’t any words for this kind of tragedy. I’m sure anyone who read this story will remember to pray for Siran, little Shelly and their family members. Events like this help to remind us that life is so precious and we need to remember that every day of lives. Especially when the kids are making us want to rip our hair out and our husbands/wives/partners are jumping up and down on our last nerve. God be with Siran and his family.

I am a UA alum and a huge fan of Siran’s. There were reports, when the accident first occurred, that the driver of the truck was drunk. Regardless, it is a tragedy and as a mother of two I can’t imagine what he is going through. To lose your wife and children has to be the worst kind of pain. Siran also played for NFL Europe and has a large fanbase. Hopefully, he and Shelly will find a way to heal but I am sure that will be difficult.

May God give him and his Shelly comfort and peace during this difficult time. How do you recover from the loss of 5 of your dearest family members? I pray that they have a super support system to help them to cope…

My heart is breaking and I am crying at the unspeakable grief and loss that this family is experiencing. I lost my only son, very unexpectedly, just two years ago and the pain, grief and loss has cut so deeply, words can’t even begin to describe it. The time since his death has been so very, very hard and I still experience nightmares every week that wake me up and leave me crying and hysterical. I am getting better with much healing and faith, but I know I will never fully recover from the loss. I pray that God provides the strength, courage and hope that Siran, Shelly and The Stacy Family will need to endure a tragedy this horrific. There is just no understanding this, in our limited capacity, so we have to rely on faith to get us through and give us purpose. May God be with The Stacy Family and help you every minute, hour, day, week, month and year ahead.

How unbelievably heartbreaking.
I can’t imagine how difficult this is going to be for him… hard enough is losing all of those people yourself but I can’t even comprehend trying to explain that to a three year old.
My prayers are certainly with them.

That is absolutely awful. May his wife and children RIP.

That is incredibly sad.
Ironically, Stacy was involved in a car accident in 2006 in which two people died as well. That is just crazy.
He also has five other surviving children from another wife. It is just so sad though.
