Maeve is the name of the author that wrote “Circle of Friends.” Which, probably not coincidentally, was the movie that really launched Chris. Way to shout out!!

He’s an old-fashioned Irish Catholic, so they won’t be stopping at 5! His poor wife!

yes, easy to be old-fashioned when you are a MAN and giving birth is not your responsibility!!!!
i’m sure SHE’s done, regardless of what Chris has to say.

Are you guys for real? After five children, I’m sure Chris has figured out that he is not the one giving birth in the relationship, has discussed his personal plans for his family with Caroline, and shares a great deal of responsibility for her. Why anyone would be so presumptuous as to make such declarative statements regarding what Chris and Caroline want for their family is beyond me. Way to totally undermine their relationship.
Anyway, congratulations to them; I’m sure Lily is so excited to have the baby sister she’s been wanting for so long.

are you the family spokesperson or something?
why are you so up in arms about it?
Those were people’s comments. Live with it.

Lauren- ITA!
sinclair- Yes, those were people’s comments….But Lauren doesn’t have to agree with them, and she is allowed to express her opinion as well.

I seriously agree with Lauren! To suggest that one partner is dictating the size of their family is not only such an old fashioned way of thought, it’s insulting to that couple! Let’s not be so quick to label future children as “family/religious tradition” by one parent and/or “unwanted” by the other!

I know Lily is happy about Maeve — she told Caroline during her pregnancy with Finn that she was leaving if her mom had another boy!
Lauren has the right to express her opinion, Sinclair. Just as you do.

The kids are the lucky ones. No one seems to think that a large family is great for the kids. Just think of the fun they will all have when they get older and come for family visits. These parents can sure enough afford to have a large family. Good for them.

Christiane, “poor wife”? What? Are you kidding me? And I mean no offence…. It’s beautiful that they are still continue to grow their family.
Now, it seems like getting pregnant is bad- or, that at least, having more than four kids is bad. She’ll be a great mother no matter how many kids she and Chris have- and him having to be Irish Catholic shouldn’t matter.
I admire women who have more than four children because they to prove the world and to feminists that they are strong and getting pregnant is a beautiful thing, no matter how many kids the couple may have.
I, for one, can’t wait to the day when me and my future husband know that we are pregnant for the first time and wouldn’t care how many kids we would have.

I think it’s so sad that in years past men would not allow women the option of working…
and now women will not allow other women the option of staying home and having large families. I am so tired of other women trying to make me feel guilty, and I think it’s ridiculous to assume that Caroline feels oppressed.
What, are you afraid that those of us who would rather concentrate on having a large family are going to bring the whole feminist regime down on your heads?

Congrats to them! Baby Maeve is certainly a bundle of joy. Glad it’s a girl this time as Lily really did need a sister to bond with. Hope the family is doing well.
