Megan Ward talks about her family to Soaps in Depth; love of West Village Kids

Actress Megan Ward, 38, who plays Kate Howard on General Hospital appears with her husband Michael Shore in ABC Soaps in Depth. Their children are Oliver, 6, and Audrey, 18 months. The couple talk about Christmas and her children’s love for each other.

Megan says that she has taught her son that Santa only comes to well behaved children, and he is therefore doing his best to behave.

Oliver is on his best behavior because he knows if you’re extra nice, then you get your presents. I’m not sure what I’m teaching my child, but it’s a good parenting tool at this point.

Oliver also has the way in which to ask for presents all worked out — he is a cataloger.

[Oliver's] a cataloger. He looks through the Toys ‘R’ Us catalog, studies it, picks out what he likes, cuts out the pictures and glues them to a paper to send to Santa. I just love the pure joy in him. It’s so innocent and sweet.

The love between the two children became more obvious to Megan when she took them to have their Santa photos taken and Oliver reassured Audrey.

Last year was Audrey’s first year to see Santa. Taking [Oliver and Audrey] together to see Santa is one of my most cherished memories. Oliver was an old pro at it. He knew exactly what to do, that he only had a few seconds with Santa for the photo op.

Audrey was a little cautious, a little unsure. We put her on Santa’s lap and she wasn’t crying, but she kept reaching for her brother. I didn’t even see it until we saw the pictures. She was reaching out to him, and he was holding her hand. That’s the definition of their relationship. They really love each other.

I love Megan on GH! She is my favorite GH actress and seems so down-to-earth and sweet.

I’m surprised to see a photo of her kids, since she prefers to keep them out of the limelight, but it’s definitely great to see her family. Oliver and Audrey are so cute! :-)

I especially love the story of visiting Santa. It’s such a sweet story, and no doubt, a memorable one for her. Oliver and Audrey are obviously very close…what a great story this is to be able to tell her kids about!
