Dominique Moceanu welcomes daughter Carmen Noel
Olympic gold medalist Dominique Moceanu Canales, 26, and her husband Michael Canales, 30, welcomed their first child, a daughter, on Christmas Day. Carmen Noel Canales weighed in at 7 lbs, 7 oz. and measured 18.5 inches. She was born just after 3 p.m. on Dec. 25 at Cleveland MacDonald Women’s Hospital. Said Dominique,
We are so excited. Mike and I have talked about starting a family for so long — It’s really a dream come true. The miracle of baby Carmen being born on Christmas Day makes this wonderful time all the more special to us. This is the best Christmas present we could have ever received!
Dominique had announced the pregnancy in July. Her due date had been next Thursday, January 3rd. During her pregnancy, Dominique did an interview and photoshoot with CBB, as well as a Magnificent 7 reunion special.

Wow, congratulations to her! I agree with Amy, the name is beautiful. We’re the same age and I remember growing up and watching her gymnastics on TV since the mid-90’s. Wow, time has flown by. She’s all grown up now!

YAY congrats to Dominique and Michael–and ITA with the posters above–I ADORE the name! Carmen is a beautiful name and I love that they added the Noel for her Christmas Day birthday…Christmas will have a whole new meaning for them now! CONGRATS and I am sure that she is GORGEOUS!

Congrats to Dominique & Michael! Their daughter’s name is very beautiful and very appropriate. As much as a Christmas baby is fun and exciting, I hope they don’t try and lump Christmas and birthday stuff together. My cousin is born on Christmas Day and he always got the short end of the stick when it came to birthday presents and Christmas presents. They were always lumped together. Same goes for my godmother who was born on Boxing Day, and another girlfriend who was born on December 27.

My daughter was also born on Christmas Day 12 years ago and what we do is we separate it we do Christmas in the morning and birthday in the afternoon. So far it has worked out well so she doesn’t get shorted. Congrats on the new baby.

congratulations!!! what a great gift for xmas!!! my moms name is Carmen it’s a great name!!! im so proud of you! now all you have to do is enjoy every second of it. they grow up so fast!!!
