Originally posted December 17th: Actress Kate Hudson, 28, and son Ryder Russell, 3 ½, appear in the January issue of Vogue. In the interview, Kate address a variety of topics — here are some of the CBB-related highlights.
On her 70 lb pregnancy weight gain:
I would be eating ice cream and my mom would literally pry the spoonaway from me, saying, ‘You’ve had enough to last you a lifetime.’
On her and rocker husband Chris Robinson’s decision to amicably divorce:
We had Ryder, and we both sort of looked at each other and went,‘Something’s off.’ The most difficult thing I’ve ever done in my life. The process ofdiscovering with somebody that you love that you don’t work is sopainful.
And thank goodness I did it with Chris…We helped each otherthrough it. Now we’re both single and since the day we separated, wetalk multiple times.
On splitting up their family while shooting ‘Fool’s Gold’ in Australia:
It was a really interesting time for me. It was right when Chris and Iwere getting divorced, and I didn’t want to be so far away, because itwas hard for us. And it was the first time I sent Ryder to be withChris while I was working, and that was definitely difficult.
But itwas probably the best experience I’ve had to date, in terms ofeverything as a whole.

I love kate. She is so cute, and seems like a good mom. She looks pretty in these pics, and ryder looks just like his mom. So sweet.

I love that photo.
I also really liked the excerpt. I really respect Kate. She is so respectful when talking to the press, very amicable. So nice to see manners! It’s so rare to see, especially on the subject of relationships, and even more so with people in the spotlight.

oh wow that is too cute for words! I’ve always liked Kate, she is a brillant actress and a wonderful mother, I just cannot get over how much Ryder looks like his mum.

I just love this family more and more each time we see them. She is so grounded and mature, not seeming to let her lifestyle or other circumstances get in the way of what really matters– family. She looks so much like her mother it is scary. I actually thought it was a younger Goldie in one of the pictures.
We just saw a preview for “Fool’s Gold” the other night. It looks hilarious! She has definitely inherited her mother’s comedic touch.

Ryder looks just like kate, especially when kate was a child. I love kate, goldie, the entire family and kate seems like a great mom.

The photos are great. They look cute wearing those matching fedoras/similar clothes, but that last one is sweet with the way they’re looking at each other. And that dress is gorgeous, too.
