"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Update: Ryan, Trista and Max Sutter in Us Weekly

Update: Additional quotations and photos added.

Originally posted December 28th: Bachelorette couple Ryan, 33, and Trista Sutter, 35, pose with son Maxwell ‘Max’ Alston, 5 months, in the latest issue of Us Weekly. Of becoming parents after two years of trying, Trista says,

It’s really special. We have somebody who needs us. We just traveled to Nebraska for an early Christmas, where Max got to meet his grandparents. It’s great to introduce him to our traditions, even if he doesn’t understand.

Max’s newest tricks involve waking Trista — who’s 3 lbs away from her pre-baby weight — up super early for morning feedings, and discovering his tootsies. Says Trista,

He just found his feet and figured out he can play with them.

Under the Christmas tree for Max was a motorized firetruck — Ryan is a firefighter — for use later on this year. Trista remarks,

I couldn’t resist. It will be fun to see how he reacts.

For now, the game of the moment in ’super spaceship,’ where Ryan makes zooming noises and ‘flies’ Max around the room.

max’s outfit is so cute and christmas-y!

  2. Lisa Says:

Does anyone know how much Max weighed at birth, and how much he weighs now? I am always interested to know those things. *smile*

Sarah’s note: He was 5 lbs, 3 oz at birth. Not sure what he weighs now, but last time we spoke to Trista he was doing very well and is healthy.

  3. E Says:

What a nice family photo, and Max is oh so cute in his little Christmas outfit!

  4. Jenn Says:

Very cute family photo. Love that they caught the yawn!

  5. FC Says:

I think Max’s starting to look more and more like his daddy, Ryan! Love his outfit in the second photo. Adorable!

  6. Pam Says:

Oh that second photo is just precious!

  7. aaron Says:

He looks pretty tiny to me, Lisa. I would guess no more than 12 pounds based on the pictures. Trista is pretty tiny herself, so I can see that he would be as well.

  8. Lola Says:

He looks tiny now, he was early so that could be a factor to, they say as a rough guide to double birth weight by 6 months (minimum) and treble by a year.
Love the card, do you know where they got them from?

Sarah’s note: I sent Trista an email to find out. ;)

Update Jan 8th 08: The cards were designed by Trista and the photographer, Lynsey Peterson. Her website is

  9. gabriella Says:

Yea max looks small, and he looks a lot like his dad now.

  10. amelie Says:

He looks very, very tiny for 5 months old. Very cute though!
