Rachel Luttrell names son Caden Dar

Tags: Names, News

In a new entry to her official site, Stargate Atlantis actress Rachel Luttrell reveals that she’s named her new son — born in mid-October, though the exact date has not been announced — Caden Dar.  Accompanying the entry is a short video clip of Rachel and a sleeping Caden, where the 36-year-old wishes her fans a happy holiday.  Writes Rachel,

My beautiful boy made his entrance into this world only a few days after Thanksgiving was celebrated in Canada. So, I think it’s appropriate that I give thanks… to all of you and to all of the blessings in my life.

She adds,

[Caden] is a looker and I have asked him (a bit early, I know) not to use his powers for evil : )

Caden is the first child for Rachel and her husband Loyd Bateman.

Ivey, I’ve also not heard that name before, but I goggled a bit to find its origin, and apparently it’s Hebrew and means “Pearl”.

(Regarding my last comment, sorry, that was supposed to read “googled”…)

Dorkiee, I’d also love to see a SGA playdate! :) Olivia, Sebastian, Aidan, Truman, Fergus, Lola, Caden, Nykl’s child(ren) – that would be a sight! :D

  5. Sanja Says:

Ivey, Dar also means ‘present, gift’ in Slavic languages.
