U.S. soccer player Kristine Lilly expecting first child
U.S. soccer player Kristine Lilly, 36, will not play in the upcoming Olympics for a very good reason — she is pregnant. Kristine and her husband Dave Heavey learned of the pregnancy in November and expect their first child in July.
However, the gold medalist does not plan to retire from the sport. She said,
It’s going to be a little bit of a transition, but I’d like to play again when the women’s pro league returns next April. I would also consider playing for the national team if I get called up again.
