"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Jeri Ryan says timing of pregnancy was perfect

Tags: News, Quotes

Jeriryan When Jeri Ryan, 39, married her husband, chef Christophe Emé, in June and the couple embarked on a two-week honeymoon across Europe, the Shark actress says that although she had hopes of conceiving, she prepared herself for a battle.  Upon their return to California, the couple were shocked to learn that a baby was, indeed, on the way. According to Jeri, "it simply couldn’t have worked out any better."

To get pregnant the first time you try at 39? I mean, I tried to explain to Chris how unusual that is — we have so many friends who are having such a hard time — but his response was, ‘Well, I’m French!’

Adds Christophe,

But of course!  When you’re French, you expect everything!

The new baby — a girl who’ll have a French name — will join Jeri’s son Alex, 13, at home.

It looks like I swallowed a basketball! I mean, I’m carrying so forward that if there hadn’t been aclear shot in the ultrasound, I would have sworn it was a boy.

While Christophe hopes their daughter will follow in mom’s footsteps and become an actress, Jeri feels differently, telling TV Guide that she’d "never wish an actress’ life on anyone!"  Part of that life, at the moment, involves the Hollywood writer’s strike.  While the layoff has come at a huge personal cost for some, Jeri says that the strike has been a bit of a blessing from her perspective.

It’s terrible to say but, selfishly, the timing [of the strike] couldn’t have been better, because I was cooked — my schedule was killing me, and I needed this break desperately.

Jeri and Christophe’s baby is due the first week of March.

I do and don’t understand it when celebs say they would “never wish this life” on their child.

    Why not?

Acting should be that parent’s passion, so if they hate it so much why are they still doing it?!

Anyhoo, I’m very happy for her and her husband on their lovely luck and future bundle of joy!

  2. Jill Says:

Jeri’s former husband, Jack Ryan, tried to run for Senate from Illinois. His campaign was derailed by allegations that he made Jeri go to sex clubs with him. The eventual winner of the Senate seat was Barack Obama!

  3. Tracy Says:

Its too bad she had to even bring those things up about her ex husband, he is the father of her son and shares custody, imagine how that will make her son feel someday… I don’t think she is anything great and not much of an actress, I don’t watch anything she is in, I hope she has a good pregnancy though, I just don’t think her acting is anything special.

  4. Pam Says:

She was lucky to get pregnant right away! Her hubby cracks me up. Can’t wait to hear what they choose for a name.
