Update: Rena Sofer expecting third child, with family at Boom Boom Room gifting suites
Update: We missed a little something when we posted these photos — Rena is pregnant with her third child! She told Jennifer of The Patchwork Bear that they don’t know the sex of the baby yet, but think it’s a girl — Sanford said he doesn’t think he makes boys, and that he would love another daughter.
No word on a due date, but it appears to be a summer baby.
Originally posted January 13th: Actress Rena Sofer, 39, her husband Sanford Bookstaver, and their daughter Avalon Leone, 2, attend the Boom Boom Room’s gifting suites at the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City, CA, on Saturday, January 12th. Rena also has a daughter Rosabel Rosalind, 11, from her previous marriage.

Avalon’s pants are from Lucky Brand Jeans. They aren’t on the website anymore but I bought them for my niece.

What is the boom boom room all about?!?!?
Sarah’s note: It’s a gifting suite, generally tied to the Golden Globes, where celebs are invited to come pick up fashion and gear items for free, in the hopes that it will be spotted on them in public and get the word out about the product.
We were invited to go this year, but unfortunately our fashion and gear contributor Ciaran, who usually covers these events for us, is on very strict bedrest with her son, due to arrive the first week of March, so needless to say she couldn’t make it!

Rena is just stunningly beautiful. Avalon looks a little like Mira Sorvino’s daughter.
But too bad they didn’t bring her older daughter Rosabel along.

Rena looks pretty like always, and her daughter is a cutie. I loved Rena on GH, and the daughter she had with Wally Kurth from GH is a beauty too, has Rena’s eyes.

Does the IRS consider these gifting events to be the same as the OSCAR gift bags — i.e. the celebs have to treat them as income on their returns?? Just curious.

In the picture where Avalon has the big smile, she looks so much like Rena. As another poster said, I too wish her other daughter was there. I haven’t seen a picture of her in years.

I love her daughter’s name. I wanted to name my second daughter Avonleigh but everyone thought I was crazy. My husband didn’t go for it either and we named her Isabella. It is nice to see someone named Avalon.

oh what a beautiful family! I love that big smile on Avalon.
Although she’s not, I think from the picture of her on the side, she looks like she could be the sister of August Hermann (Peter Hermann and Mariska Hargitay’s son). Maybe its just me, lol.

I guess I have some questions. At one point, was Rena ever married to former General Hospital co-star Wallace Kurth? And did they have any children together, or is Avalon from her marriage to Sanford?
Sarah’s note: Yes, they were married, and they have Rosabel. Wally also has a daughter from his previous marriage, Meghann, that Rena is still close with, and is pictured with Rosabel in the comment link above. Meghann was actually in her wedding to Sanford. Avalon is Rena’s daughter with Sanford.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. I thought I remembered reading that Rena had a child with Wallace, but Rosabel wasn’t mentioned in this particular post, so that kinda threw me off. Thanks for the info.

Wow, that’s a blast from the past!! I know Rena has been on a whole bunch of other shows, but I still remember her on GH. I really like the names she chose for her daughters: Rosabel and Avalon are both really pretty names and not completely ‘out there’. Congrats to Rena and Sanford…and the big sisters as well.

did rena have her baby yet? i saw her on two and a half men’s season premiere and she obviously wasn’t pregnant. any word?
