Daniel Baldwin welcomes fourth child, daughter Avis Ann
Actor Daniel Baldwin, 47, is a dad for the fourth time. Wife Joanne Smith-Baldwin, 38, gave birth to daughter Avis Ann Baldwin at 12:59 am this morning, January 17th, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Avis weighed in at 7 lbs, 10 oz, and joins sisters Kahlea, 22, and Alexandria, 13, and brother Atticus, 11, from Daniel’s previous relationships.
First-time mom Joanne tells People,
I’m ecstatically happy. Daniel wasn’t as nervous as me. He’s a little used to this sort of thing. I’m glad he’s got some experience in this area.
For his part, Daniel adds,
Thank god she looks like her mother. The fourth time’s a charm. We feel blessed.
Do we have another one right away or do we wait a while? We’re still not sure, but practicing is gonna be fun.
Daniel and Joanne were married on July 28th.

The only Avis I’ve ever know was my great aunt, so I guess I associate it as an “old” name. Maybe he’ll bring it back in style!

It is an old name, but I like it! Strange, because names like that usually aren’t my style at all.

breeze, I think he just means his other three look like him, and this one looks like his current wife. Haven’t you ever heard of the expression, “he/she looks like me, poor kid.” I read it as an insult at first too, but then I read it again in the context of a father just saying the other ones look like him.

I absolutely love the name! Breeze – I took his comment to mean that his fourth child was just as special, important and unique as his first, second and third. I think he was just trying to make that known in his own way.

i like the use of an old-fashioned name. maybe avis will be the new “sophia”?!

I like the name Avis… for some reason I always think of it as a British name. Little Avis is cute… but isn’t she only 2 months old as she was born in mid-January?
