Garth Brooks talks about raising daughters the way he was raised
When Garth Brooks retired from the country music scene in 2001 to become a full-time dad in the wake of his divorce from ex-wife Sandy, it wasn’t just lip service. Although he’s dabbled in the music industry off-and-on since then, he says that his focus remains on parenting daughters Taylor Mayne Pearl, 15, August Anna, 13, and Allie Colleen, 11.
I remember not knowing my children, and I never want to go back there. I want my kids to be raised the way I was raised. My parents were at every game, whether I played or not. You’d look over your shoulder and there they were.
Garth, 45, is now married to country singer Trisha Yearwood.
