Pregnancy causes crazy dreams for Christie Clark Barnes
Former Days of Our Lives actress Christie Clark Barnes, 34, is anxiously awaiting the birth of her first child — a daughter to be named Hannah — with husband Thomas Barnes, but one thing she didn’t count on was the crazy dreams that came along with the pregnancy.
We only have three months left until our little girl enters the world. I’m trying to get all things checked off my list, before this blessed event.
It’s amazing the crazy dreams you have when you’re pregnant. Extremely vivid dreams, or maybe I just remember them more because I haven’t had the usual wine I have through out the week.

i always had these crazy dreams of giving birth to animals (mostly a cat). And then before I found out I was pregnant with my second, I dreamt I gave birth to an ice sculpture baby and I said, I bet I am pregnant again…and sure enough

I dreamt I gave birth to a very cute tan puppy. It seemed perfectly normal. Very odd

I love hearing about the crazy dreams people have while pregnant. I think the birth to animals is pretty prevalent. I recently had one that I gave birth in an animal hospital, and although I was assured the baby was fine it looked like a puppy to me! Without fail, during each of my four pregnancies I have the “old boyfriend” dreams. I have read that this is common. The blasts from the past show up in my dreams, and I wake up guilty and surprised, but I always laugh. Only when I am pregnant, though!

I had ton of old boyfriend dreams while pregnant. I wonder if it’s because we feel fat and imagining an old boyfriend wants us, makes us feel sexy again? Who knows?
I think I dreamt I gave birth to an alien/baby platypus-looking thing once while pregnant. It was so ugly, but I loved it.

When I was pregnant with my oldest, I dreamt that my mom gave birth (to my baby) in the dishwasher. I never could figure that one out.

haha these are funny! I can’t even share the weirdest dream I had. But I will share the one where my cat was my surrogate mother. And she was in labor in a large cup of water (a water birth) and she gave birth to this tiny human baby. I snatched it up out of the water and the baby was barely breathing, I held it in my hands, crying and feeling helpless…b/c I couldn’t decide whether to call a Dr. or the vet! I believe the baby stopped breathing…that was a pretty sad one

My pregnancy dreams were about an old boyfriend as well, however, I did have one specific dream about a monkey that was running ramped through our house carrying a skillet and an empty Miller Lite 24 pack..(maybe he wanted a Bud?)I finally semi-cornered him the the kitchen, only to find out all he wanted to do was make me eggs! My son is was 5 in October and I still catch myself every once in a while daydreaming (and giggling) about my monkey dream.

I am close to my 2nd trimester and boy do I ever agree with the dreams. I have had more ghost and killer dreams than I have had in my entire life. I never had dreams with the pregnancy of my 4 y old son but this time I have dreams of people breaking into my home and trying to kill me, people chasing me outside trying to attack me, ghosts appearing to me, lots of blood and just terrible nightmares. I don’t get it.

I’m not pregnant, but my DH’s mediation teacher has said that meditating releases negative energy and doing it before sleep can reduce anxiety/stress bad dreams…it’s definitely making for more restful sleep for him/me.

in both my pregnancies I had dreams my children were born toddler size with teeth. another I remember I kept carrying him around by his head and worrying that it was really going to hurt him-duh! Also with both pregnancies I would dream about “being” with a woman. when not pregnant, I’m totally into my husband, but pregnant…not so much

oh yes! this is one of the main pregnancy symptomps that i had. i always have these weird dreams. i once dreamt i gave birth to a package of ground meat and cried when someone cooked it. what was even more weird was, i couldnt stand the smell or sight of ground meat when i was expecting my daughter so to dream that i gave birth to meat was ironic.

With both of my pregnancies, I dreamed that my children when they were born were African-American. I am not African-American. Neither is my husband. I did not have this dream just once or twice, but several times. Perhaps it was because I had a good friend who was African-American giving me such great advice throughout my pregnancies?
These dreams are too freakin’ funny. A surrogate cat and a diswasher baby…LMAO!

I had very detailed, EPIC dreams while pregnant. Towards the end I had a dream that after my son was born, we brought him home, and he was crying and crying FROM THE PANTRY. This is where we kept him in the dream. Then he would start crying, and I would think, ‘oh, he must be hungry’ but then I didn’t know what to do from there, how/what to give him to eat. SO anyway, you can deduce that I was feeling a little inadequate…LOL Of course, he was born and we didn’t keep him in the pantry, and I knew exactly what to do if he was hungry!

For the first five months of my pregnancy, I had really vivid dreams of my grandmother, who passed away several years ago. She was in every dream, sometimes she was doing weird stuff like running through fields, and in others, she would just be sitting in the background. It happened everynight. Then the dreams just stopped.

I’ve also had crazy, vivid dreams with both of my pregnancies. Mine don’t usually have anything to do with birth or babies. Sometimes I’m not even pregnant in them. The one I really remember with my son was that I was sitting in church, when suddenly the priest got up and ran out the door. Everybody was trying to figure out what was going on, so we all jumped up and ran to the window only to find a giant (like tank-sized) brown bunny out in the parking lot. It was cute and fuzzy looking, but everyone was freaking out, waiting to see what would happen. And then suddenly the rabbit just farts over all the cars and that was the end of the dream. I remember waking up thinking it was odd and hilarious. I’m currently 23 weeks along with my second and the craziness is in full swing again. I think it’s fun, it gives you something to look forward to as you hit the hay.

I used to have horrible dreams back when I was trying to conceive and couldn’t. One I always seemed to have was where I would be holding a baby, and it would turn out to be only a doll, or it would vanish in mid-air, or turn into something else. Once I got pregnant, those dreams went away. A few weeks before I delivered, I had one dream that I still remember vividly. I was in the produce department of a grocery store, and there were babies in placenta piled up like lettuce. I know, it still makes me go ewwwww! And, I would go and pick out the baby and put it in my cart. Well, at least the baby didn’t disappear!

My weirdest one was of a street cleaner that used olive oil instead of water and Jessie Ventura (former wrestler/governor) was driving it. I also had a dream with Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but for some nice reason, I wasn’t scared.

It makes me feels better to know that others have the crazy dreams that I do while pregnant. I had a dream last night that I gave birth to a small dog/rat looking thing, my husband just loved it and said it had his ears. I was kind of embarrassed though, i’ll have to admit. In the dream my friend gave birth to a beautiful little girl and here i am with a rat dog. The oddest part is that the rat dog fell out of my belly button and I started panicing cause I didnt think I was ready for it to be born (I’m 20 weeks) so I was frantically trying to put it back in through my belly button. Ahhh, Pregnancy, what would I do with out it ha ha.
