I think this photo was taken outside their home in South Wales – not in England as is written. I live near them, and I recognise it.
I love her pink pram though! I would love to see more recent pics of Ruby soon.

That is a gorgeous carriage! But, if I were to spend 3,500$ on a carriage i’d probably get it in basic black….what will she do if she has a boy? Just get a new one in blue?? Oh to be filthy rich!

I love that pram, but I don’t think I would ever spend that much money on a stroller, even if I did have and extra $3,500 laying around. Charlotte looks great as well!

My Mum is English and she had a huge Silver Cross pram like that for me. She says that they are quite easy to steer..but I don’t really know. They are wonderful to have over there though…like pushing the baby around on a full size extra fluffy mattress. I have gone with the Chico myself though..although I do live in California and one of those wouldn’t be that practical. Fabulous though!!

Love the pram! I don’t think I would get a pink and/or blue one since you never know what the next child is, but the pink is adorable.
If you’ve got the money, why not? I love Charlotte & Gavin.

Looks like Charlotte has chosen for Ruby a very traditional, old school, British pram! I’m sure that thing isn’t very easy to bring up the stairs, but I love that she chose it!

I’m just curious if anyone knows:
Are prams still used these days for their practicality or because they make a fashion statement? I realize the baby is probably quite comfortable in there but I’d much rather push around a stylish stroller that is cute and compact than a “stylish” stroller that is ridiculously large like this one. I think it looks a little silly. Just my opinion of course…

those things are ugly in the traditional black, they’re even worse in pink. wow. I’m in my 30s and wouldn’t buy a SC. I’m really surprised that someone in her 20s would. They are definitely not practical and they look soooo cumbersome.

Guys, its super expensive for us regular folks, but hey.. these are celebs. The same way we look at 350 $ is the same way they look at 3,500. Some of them spend more than that on face creams and facials (lol me stressing out for spending a whole 20 $ on Aveeno face cream).
And strollers seem to be more about the parent than the baby. I mean look at the Bugaboo ones ! Sure, they are light, but seriously , $700-900 dollars ?? And the best part with those is that you have to buy all of the expansions that you would find on a good ol’ Graco (that would run you under 300) especially cup holders…ahem cup holders !! lol…so lets not rag on her too much for getting one of those ooglie strollers
Just curious, when the baby starts sitting etc, can you even use this stroller ?

Silver Cross prams are not unusual here in the UK and by all accounts are very easy to push. They have real tyres with suspension and everyone I know says they are just fine.
I think when it’s so normal to use people don’t stop to think about it that much. When I go out I see a few of them around and never think anything of it.
I know some British people who just think of one of those when the time comes to buy a stroller. They range in prices too and a lot of people hand them down because they last a long time. Some people like using all of the traditional ‘old-fashioned’ things too.
I’m American and living in the UK now for 6 years and in I’ve noticed that here they do preserve a lot of the older traditions. It’s just the normal way of doing things.
I don’t like the pink though!

My mom had one of these prams with me but that was 23 years ago!!! They were the norm then in UK but not now! Personally I think they look hideous and I would never have one for my child! I’d prefer to use $3,500 to save towards my childs future!

Yep Aya, they are quite deep so there is room for them to sit up in. While they are not to my personel taste, I do think they are quite classic and they were pretty much what everyone in the UK had 30 years ago. Not sure about the pink though!! Also with their money they probably have a smaller, lighter pram or buggy for days when the silver cross would be awkward.

I’m from the UK and seeing that pram is like something my mum probably had when i was younger, but there not the “norm” now…most people in London have bugaboo’s and i can’t see how they afford them as they are so expensive

In the UK and most of Scandinavia we use a pram for the first 6-12 months of a baby’s life. Then we use a stroller until the baby is 3-4 years old. In Denmark we use the pram for naps outside until the baby is 3 years old. That is why most prams made and sold in Denmark is about 97 cm long. Concerning if a baby is going to be able to use a pram when it starts sitting it can. In most prams there is a “chairback” you can pull up so the baby will sit more comfortably while riding.

I think that the traditional style of prams are better for preventing wind blowing past babies face… they just seem extremely comfortable too. I had a similar style pram with my little boy, an absolute pain in the bum to steer but he could fall asleep in it any time, any where. I would get the same style pram with the carriage for subsequent pregnancies but would consider a better steering system than stationary wheels.
I despise those prams where the baby goes on the bottom and the older sibling sits on top. There is no way I would put a baby that close to the ground.
Just my opinion of course!

I like the stroller, heck, I don’t care if it had flying pink unicorns on it (which I would like even better
) if she likes it and the baby is soft and cozy who cares. Also, maybe it was a gift? Maybe it was free from the company? Who know. She’s cool to use her own head and use what she likes.

Love the pink pram, but hate the price. I would never spend that kind of money on something the baby probably won’t be able to use once they learn how to roll over and sit up. But then again, I don’t have as much money lying around as celebs do.

I don’t like it either…
I have a Bugaboo for my third baby (my older two had a Graco) and I love it, I totally think it’s worth the money for the walking I do with it.
So I don’t think it’s the money issue with the Silvercross for me, I just think it’s ugly! And impractical and sooo old fashioned.
I’ve never seen one of those in the UK. My Mum had one for me I think (I’m 29) but I’ve not seen one on the streets in the past ten years at least! They are certainly not the norm round these parts of the UK

Well referring to an earlier comment, I hate the compact car seat attaching strollers. Babies always look so squished up in them and cold.
A baby should have lots of room to be comfortable, and prams like these do just that..
Also its the mother’s personal choice at the end of the day. Its her who has to push it..

The best way to transport a baby is to carry it in a wrap or any other decent baby carrier. That way you don’t even need a pram. Spending $3500,- on a pram is just ridiculous. Even if you have lots of money.

I think this stroller is wonderful. Nice and wide and roomy. It’s like the Bentley of strollers. The color just screams I have the most cute little girl in this stroller. Tee. Hee. It’s her first baby, who cares how much it costs. She’s got it like that. Probably not pratical for negotiating the aisles at a Home Depot, but for taking a nice walk near your home, I think it’s great. From what I can see from the picture, it has an independent suspension which would make it easy to navigate. I’m trying for another baby with my second husband and I might go with the pram so I can live out my Mary Poppins fantasy.

The “norm” are brands like graco, mama’s and papa’s and as some one mentioned earlier, bugaboo’s.
Those prams are very old fashioned. Half the people that use them now are trying to make a statement more than anything.
