SATC’s Willie Garson talks adoption plans
His new film Sex and The City: The Movie comes out in May, but the next topic on the agenda for actor Willie Garson, 43, is parenthood. Willie tells People that he is in the beginning steps of adopting a child.
I’m taking parenting class because I’m going to try to adopt a kid. I’ve been getting that all together, and we’ll see. I’m thinking a boy, but with the right kid it doesn’t really matter.
Due to being single, he has met some obstacles in the process, but hopes that it will bring a joyful outcome.
I kind of knew how difficult it was going to be, and it’s pretty difficult.
When asked if Carrie, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, would have a baby with Mr. Big — new dad Chris Noth — in the movie, Willie was tight lipped.
Oh, I don’t know – I’m not allowed to tell you. Anything could happen. I could become a mom. Kim [Cattrall] becomes a grandfather.

I really hope everything works out for him! It is always so frustrating to hear about adoption discrimination when there are so many people willing to love – and SO many children who need them!

Does anyone know if he’s gay? I know he is on the show, but wasn’t sure about real life…..
Sarah’s note: In an article I read on him (can’t remember what, unfortunately), he implied that he is straight.

Good luck to him on his adoption plans! He seems like he would be a good father.
By the way, Willie Garson IS straight. I have the book Sex and the City: Kiss and Tell and it was stated that Sarah Jessica Parker and Willie became friends over 20 years after they were set up on a blind date (yes, they are friends in real life). He also said how difficult and awkward it was to shoot his first gay love scene on the show.

Kaley, he’s a freaking awesome actor then because I completely thought he was gay (he had a cameo on “Yes, Dear” where he seemed gay too.)
I hope he’s able to adopt, I think anyone that wants to be a parent and will be a good one should be able to.
