John C. McGinley and wife welcome daughter Billie Grace
Actor John C. McGinley, 48, and his wife Nichole, an ashtanga yoga teacher and birthing doula, have welcomed their first child together, a daughter. Billie Grace McGinley was born on her due date, Saturday, February 2nd, at 1:36 in the morning. Weighing in at 8 lbs and 21 inches long, Billie was delivered in a birthing tub by Nichole, with the assistance of a midwife, in their Malibu, CA home. Said Nichole,
We areall happy and healthy at home and enjoying these precious first moments oflife together.
A wowed John adds,
Nichole was a mountain lion, a warrior in the birthing process. The birth was astonishing! Mom and baby girl are 100 percent. Billie is a ‘mini Nichole’! Thank God.
Billie joins Max, John’s 10-year-old son from his previous marriage. The pregnancy and sex of the baby was announced in October.

“Billie is a mini-Nichole. Thank God!” This statement cracked me up. The man gave himself too little credit, if you ask me.
Congrats to John, Nichole, and Max!

Agreed, aNNA.
I wonder if she was a little less nervous about giving birth due to the fact that she’s a doula.

Congratulations to them!
I love hearing about homebirths, and it sounds as if this was an incredible experience for them. Reading his comments on the birth brought tears to my eyes!

I am so happy for them. John has always been very inspirational in the way he raises his older son (who has Downs syndrome, I believe) – treating him like a normal boy and including him in as many things as possible (best man at their wedding) – always so proud of him. He’s somebody who really appreciates being a father and I’m sure he married somebody with the same values. Their kids are so lucky! Congrats!

I always love hearing positive publicity about homebirths. I gave birth to my son at home and couldn’t be happier with the experience. Although my husband said I sounded more like a motorboat than a mountain lion!
Congrats to the happy couple! I love John and wish them the best.
Can’t wait for the new Stefani/Rossdale baby!!!

I’ve always loved “Dr. Cox” and now that I am learning what a cool Dad he is (yay for Homebirth Dads and those wonderfully supportive Hubbies of Doulas!!)
Congrats to Billie Grace for being born into such a cool fam

PSB – I always thought the same thing about John, and as the mother of a special needs child, I loved the fact that he so enjoyed being his dad.
But about 2 weeks ago, TMZ.com reported that he has decided to reduce his child support payments for his son Max, and it seems to be confirmed by his lawyer in the article. He claims that he can’t pay it because his show is not in production because of the writers strike. But it appears he can still keep his house, his cars, etc., and hasn’t stopped providing adequately for his new baby. He is only cutting back on Max.
So I no longer have an ounce of respect for Mr. John C. McGinley.

John McGinley is one of my favorite celebrity dads. COngratulations on the new addition!
That being said, Beverly, bear in mind we do not know how much Mr. McGinley pays in child support. I’m sure it WAS incredibly generous, and despite the reduction, probably is STILL generous when you factor in his special needs. I’m sure Max will want for nothing and when this strike ends (Soon) and John is employed again it will probably be restored to the previous amount. Nobody said this was a permanent arrangement. It is plain to see he loves his son very much, but there are certain realities of life that have to be dealt with. There is no indication as far as I know that John McGinley is living some lavish lifestyle with his ‘new family’ while his son and ex-wife struggle to make ends meet.

Oh Beverley, I hope this isn’t true. Maybe he lost a bunch of money in the stock market or made some bad investments. He seems so in love with his older son. Is it possible that his son just lives with him more often than he used to, so the financial arrangements had to be changed? Maybe the story is false (I want to believe it is….)

Family court does not “allow” a parent to decide to reduce payments because they feel like it. If you read the article, his final judgement does not allow for a reduction unless the final season has filmed. Regardless of how much money he pays, his ex-wife and son must count on that money to pay for his special needs and schooling. If I remember correctly he slashed is $9,000 monthly payments to $4,000. I don’t have a child with special needs but I can’t imagine that $4,000 is enough to cover housing/food/expenses and special needs expenses such as specialists, schools and equipment. I used to be a JCM fan until I read the articles and now I think poorly of him! Someone who know both of them (John and ex-wife) posted that he is full of himself and she is a very sweet and caring person. What a shame!
