Rogue Trader’s Natalie Bassingthwaite on wanting seven children

Australian actress and Rogue Trader’s lead singer Natalie Bassingthwaite, 32, spoke to Australian TV Week about the possibility of starting a family with her boyfriend, Rogue Trader’s drummer Cameron McGlinchey. Natalie, who will be hosting the Australian version of So You Think You Can Dance, commutes between LA and Australia for both work and her relationship.

Natalie says that while she would love to start a family right now, there are aspects of life that she wants to experience first and career related goals she wants to achieve.

I think about it a lot but I think I’ve just got a few more things I want to do first. I mean, a family to me is the biggest thing I’d love to achieve, so hopefully in the next few years.

But is the number of children that she is thinking of having a bit excessive? She doesn’t think so.

Oh, I told Cameron the other day that I wanted seven. But I didn’t know whether I was being quite dramatic.

This revelation definitely worried Cameron,

Yeah, [it did]. Everyone was like, ‘Are you serious?’ and I said, ‘I think so’. I don’t even know yet if it’s physically possible to have at this point! I’ll get back to you when I’m pregnant with twins.

She can be reassured it IS entirely possible! I’m 41 and have 11 kids, ages 18 years to 10 mos. Most people I know(fellow homeschoolers) also have large families, with an average of 8 kids per family, but some with 12, or even 14 kids per family. Not only is it possible, it’s wonderful! Children are life’s greatest blessings!
BTW, this is my 3rd time trying to post this.It always takes several attempts before it gets posted and I have trouble reading the “code” required as the final step as well.Does anyone else have this problem(and it’s SO frustrating!) or is it just me?

Sarah’s note: Your comment came through the first time — on our end, there’s now triple comments from you, so we deleted two. ;) It also takes time for comments to show because someone needs to be online to put them live.

she is dreaming if she thinks she can have 7 kids, she is already 32, does she still want to be having kids when she is 45 or older.

  3. Liz Says:

By not knowing if it’s possible i think Natalie meant they would have to actually get pregnant for the first time first. But really i think she was probably serious about wanting seven kids, not so much about actually having that many.

Anyways, i hope they do have some babies. I’m a big fan of Natalie and i recall her talking about wanting kids previously, she does seem to really want to be a mum. Plus those kids would be super cute!
