I just bought the Mimi Maternity tunic for a work function my hubby has coming up. Thank you!

As for the heels issue, I work at a law firm and wear 2-3" heels daily, but I know my limits. They come off when I'm at my desk, and I wear flats on the weekends.

While I know you won't post this, please do not encourage pregnant women to wear this sort of footwear. It is not safe. It is not safe. Is it worth the chance that an ankle can turn, and you fall on your behind? Even if your babies remain safe, do you want to deliver while all bruised up? Or, worse, with a broken ankle. Think about it. Vanity has no place in pregnancy. Sure, you can look great. But, you can look great without heels like that. Please remember, many young mothers look to YOU, for guidence. Take this seriously. I enjoy your site, but I am disappointed you would applaud this footwear. Thank you. Mary..aka brookefan.

Note from Danielle, CBB Publisher: I really have no idea what you're talking about. All Julia said was "Jennifer is flawless from head to toe (and how I adore those shoes - but how ever did she manage?)" which I do not interpret as encouraging pregnant women to wear stilettos. Her column focuses solely on Jennifer's dress.

In any case, while readers may look to us for guidance, they're not idiots. I believe that our readers know themselves well enough to know whether they can handle wearing high heels. I have never been able to wear shoes with more than a 2" heel so during my pregnancy, I used my judgment and limited when I wore then.

I would like to point out though that high heels are not forbidden during pregnancy, they alter your posture and your center of gravity is already off, along with loosened ligaments. Since you're more likely to develop a backache from wearing them and lose your balance, it's best to limit wearing them to special occasions.

Additionally, we asked Robin Elise Weiss, About.com's Pregnancy Guide, about wearing high heels in pregnancy. She told us,
"I saw that picture and thought "Ouch!" Heels in pregnancy are usually discouraged in pregnancy because of being off balance, leg pain, leg cramps, etc. Late in pregnancy, particularly in a twin pregnancy, I'm not sure how you could do it! My guess, from reading someplace that she was complaining of her feet swelling and she was out buying comfortable shoes, is that this was a one off event for a very big deal and not something she does all the time. You can bet Marc was rubbing her tootsies that night!
