CBB reader spots Spice Girl’s children on stage in Chicago
CBB reader Colleen was at the Spice Girls concert in Chicago last night and was lucky enough to spot the children of the Spice Girls up on stage with their moms. Here is Colleen’s experience:
Last night I was at the Chicago Spice Girls concert at the United Center. At the beginning of Mama the girls seemed pretty emotional.
I was paying attention to the slide show that plays during the song. It’s a mixture of photos of the Spice Girls as kids, Spice Girls with their moms, and the Spice Girls’ own children. I was paying pretty close attention to the slide show when my sister nudged me and said "Look, her baby"; Emma [Bunton] had brought Beau on stage. I thought we were lucky to see just him when next thing I know Victoria [Beckham] is helping Cruz up on the stage. I thought that was all the Spice Babies we’d get to see but soon Romeo joined his mom and Brooklyn came up last. Victoria was sort of emotional and the kids gave her hugs.
Soon Melanie [Brown] had Angel too. At one point she slipped her headphones off and Mel had to pick them up. Phoenix and Bluebell were not on stage. As they walked off stage Geri held hands with Romeo, who held hands with Brooklyn. At one point Brooklyn bent down to whisper something to Romeo, then put his arm around him.
They stopped at the end of the stage to finish the song. Brooklyn gave his mom a hug. Cruz seemed happiest to be on stage followed by Brooklyn who couldn’t stop smiling. I didn’t see any of the Spice dads. In one photo it looks like it could be David lifting Romeo up to his mom, but I can’t tell.
The Spice Girls have seven children between the five of them (Mel C is the only one without a child). Geri Halliwell has daughter Bluebell Madonna, 21 months, Victoria Beckham has Brooklyn Joseph, 8 ½, Romeo James, 5, and Cruz David, 3 next week, Melanie Brown has Phoenix Chi, 8 ½, and Angel Iris, 10 months, and Emma Bunton has Beau Lee, 6 months.
The Spice kids were spotted on stage in London in December.

That would probably be my fave part of the show…when they bring their kids out. Cruz seems to totally be enjoying the stage time. Beau and Angel don’t seem to know what to make of all of it. Thanks for sharing the pics.

How cute is that? They’ve got to be the cutiest kids ever….The Beckham boys are precious…they really seem to be loving the tour and will have a great memory that last a lifetime!

I was there last night, too.
At one point, Geri handed Romeo and Brooklyn a big black sign that said Victoria in silver sparkles. The boys were very proud to hold that sign up!
Beau and Angel were actually in the front row of the catwalk for most of the concert. We could see a man (who wasn’t Jade) holding Beau up near his shoulders for awhile after Emma took him offstage and Angel was a few people over.

I love Victoria’s outfit!!!

Why do they always take their kids out on stage? I’m not that fond of the babies being out in that environment. Strong basslines and such affect the little one’s hearts. This is partly why it’s not allowed for kids under 13 to enter pop and rock shows here in Sweden for example. Just wondering if it’s that wise of these gals to bring their babies out.

I hope, by the way, that there was silence when Angel pulled of her ear protectors.

I went to the Feb 6th show at Nassau Colliseum. I so wished they had bought their kids on stage. But the energy in the audience might have been too much for them. Long Island girls are very “OMG” when it comes to the spice girls!

Vickie’s boys are so cute and Cruz is no doubt still in love with her awwww. And Angel’s little cheeks. Beau looks just likes Baby,
I agree with Kat, Beau and Angel are like mommy is holding me but what else is going on??

Well, I guess the Spice Girls, saved the best for last. A farewell tour, showing their lovely offspring. What a treat.

hea, shut up.

Hea–
MANY more children die each year in car accidents than develop heart murmurs from large speakers. And yet who is going to stop driving their children around? I’m sure the issue is related to prolonged exposure to giant speakers.
The kids are fine.

Stef – That’s not a very good or valid comparison you’re making. The difference between driving a car and bringing your child with you out on stage is huge in my world.
It has been proved that loud/deep bass and such as drums and percussion, very well can affect small childrens hearts without the parents able to tell if it’s happening. Children under 2 should not attend a live concert where the dB easily goes above 115 and the equivalent sound level is 110.
If you can prove me wrong, please do. This is what I have been taught and what I’ve studied. It is a unneccesary risk these women are taking with the small ones and don’t even get me starting on Angel pulling of her ear protectors.
