Giada De Laurentiis attends Fettuccine and Fiorentina, says ‘baby wants meat’
Flanked by actor Danny DeVito, Food Network cook Rachael Ray, and restaurateur David Manero, Giada De Laurentiis attends the Fettuccine and Fiorentina event held in Miami, FL, on Saturday evening. The 37-year-old chef and her husband, Todd Thompson, expect their first child — a daughter — on April 3rd. (And yes, that’s her due date! She cleared up the mystery.) Giada spoke to People at the event, discussing her cravings and how she’s eating while expecting.
I always want steak — lots of steak. I used to crave sweets before I got pregnant. You know,chocolate, cookies, cake. I’ve normally got a really big sweet tooth,but not now this baby just wants meat.
You know, I think this is the time to indulge myself. It’s such a wonderful time, so I’m eating what Iwant. I eat alot of little meals, which is what you’re supposed to do when you’repregnant. It’s healthier, anyway.
As for her baby girl, Giada is eagerly anticipating her arrival.
I couldn’t be more excited about being pregnant. She can’t get here soon enough. I can’t wait to meet her.

I can’t wait to see this little girl and hear what they’re going to name her! She’ll be stunning and have some of the best style on the block! I hope she inspires Anthropologie to carry even more children’s clothing!

Giada is really striking. I have been unfamiliar with her until she has been on this site, but she seems like a really neat person. I bet her little girl is going to be just beautiful!

I craved steak a lot too when I was pregnant with my older daughter. For me, it was a sign of anemia (I liked it really rare), hopefully that’s not the case for Giada.
Oh, and Rachael Ray is not a chef, she’s a cook (she didn’t go to culinary school, she herself said on the Food Network special of Iron Chef America, where Mario Batali and she battled against Giada and Bobby Flay, that she wasn’t a chef, and Mario Batali called her a “cooker.”)

I LOVE Giada…. I can’t believe how small her belly is though, for being so close to her due date. She looks fabulous and is just so beautiful. I’m very happy and excited for her and her husband. I wish them only the best

April 3rd is my birthday! Giada looks beautiful as always and very healthy, like things are going along well. Wishing her all the best in the final “stretch” (no pun intended)!

I saw her on the Today show this morning and I could not believe how small she looked for being 8 months along. She is soooo lucky. I was like a whale at the end and could barely amble down the hallway.

Sarah your comment made me laugh, and I had to look again and it is Danny Devito and I wonder why he’s in the picture? I like him and family also. I watch Giada’s show and I love her as a host. She’s a pretty and charming young woman, very endearing, I can’t wait to see her daughter.
