"My baby self weaned despite me trying to keep up the nursing! I find it so refreshing to hear Gwen talk about how hard she works to lose weight and keep herself in top shape. She looks great and has a beautiful family."

“I sit there and play princesses with my daughter, and I never told her anything about a princess, ever. Whereas I go to my brother’s house, and he’s got two boys…I walk in the front door, and I instantly get punched in the nuts.”

Tina Fey talks about having it all, and doing the impossible

Tinaandalice Producing and starring in a hit television show all day and writing the script for said television show all night requires an almost super-human work ethic; Finding time in it all to raise a daughter seems downright impossible.  But for Tina Fey, producer, co-star and head writer for NBC’s 30 Rock and mom to 2 ½-year-old Alice Zenobia, doing the impossible each day is not only possible — it’s exactly what’s required of a working mom.

We wrap shooting on a normal day by 7 p.m.  Most times, I then bring three or four writers home with me. I’ll put Alice to bed before they come over, then we continue writing until I can no longer stay awake.

Although her life is "very full," the 37-year-old admits that maintaining such a frenetic pace does sometimes take a toll.

I would be lying if I said there were not tears involved at home occasionally — just occasionally …The life of the working parent is constantly saying, ‘This is impossible,’ and then you just keep doing it.

Tina took just 43 days of maternity leave from Saturday Night Live after giving birth to Alice, her first child with husband Jeff Richmond, leading her to quip at the time that she "had to get back to work. NBC has me under contract; the baby and I only have a verbal agreement."  The notion of having it all is somewhat misleading, Tina says, adding,

I think my generation has been slightly tricked in that you’re really encouraged to try to have it all.  And sometimes your body will not let you wait as long as you want.

Tina has spoken before about Alice’s love of music, and now it looks as though we can add a love of princesses to the list.  Although this recent discovery by her daughter is one that Tina is not yet on board with, herself.  She says,

I think this is ingenious marketing, but that princess thing sets off an alarm bell for me.  [I'm afraid] all that might creep back into our culture. That a girl would really aspire to be the Little Mermaid, a beautiful redhead with no legs who waits for her prince! Who literally gives up her voice!  What are we doing? What’s going on?

Tina’s next film project, Baby Mama, opens in theaters April 25.
