Jaden and Willow Smith to star in Amulet; dad Will Smith to produce
Will Smith, 39, and his wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith, 36, are talented actors. And it appears that they have passed on that talent to children Jaden Christopher Syre, 9, and Willow Camille Reign, 7. The pair are set to star in the Warner Brothers feature film Amulet. Dad Will has signed on to produce the film.
The film is an adaption of the Scholastic novel by the same name, in which a brother and sister move in with their great-grandfather after their father passes away. After the pair move in, they use their great-grandfather’s magical amulet to rescue their mother from a beast.
This is not the first time that Jaden and Willow have been seen on the big screen. Jaden starred in The Pursuit of Happyness, while Willow appeared in I Am Legend.
Jaden and Willow aren’t the only talented ones. Let us not forget Will’s oldest son Trey, 15, who has also acted.

Gorgeous kids. It looks like Willow is getting her mothers fashion sense. I always like the way Jada Pinkett Smith dresses. She is always one of my favorites at the awards shows.

I wonder why no one ever complains about the fact that The Smiths have their kids in the business? Or that they travel with them during filming and have a tutor?
Other celebs just can’t catch a break, I guess.
I do like The Smiths (except for the whole Scientology thing), but, I don’t like the double standards.

I once heard Jada speak of including Sheree, the mother of Trey (Will’s oldest son)into some of the family’s activities.
Jada’s philosophy was that it was absolutely the best situation for Trey – and her children with Will – if everyone got along. It takes a strong, self-confident lady to do that – and I admire her greatly for that.

Nisha, I think it’s because Will and Jada have always seemed and seems very stable as a couple in showbiz and very grounded. They come more across of people that let their children act in films but also provide them with enough security to make sure they don’t get lost in all the Hollywood pressure. We can never tell for sure though and only time will tell if our judgment is right. But for me I have a bigger problem if people drag their kids into reality shows. Because when kids are acting, you still keep their own personalities private, but by letting them participate in a reality show you take that last part away. Hope it makes sense.

Nisha: The Smiths are not Scientologists. Will Smith is friends with Tom Cruise however, and has made comments defending Tom’s ability to believe what he wants.

I think it’s great for Jaden and Willow. Congrats to them. Especially for Willow, who only had a small role in I Am Legend. Of course it doesn’t hurt that their parents are in show business, and so the kids have more access to land roles such as these. But I think most people don’t mind the obvious nepotism here, because they’re such a great family.
