Emma Bunton on postpartum weightloss after Beau’s birth
Emma Bunton has never been a stick, and she doesn’t plan to be one, thank you very much. The 32-year-old Spice Girl and new mom to son Beau Lee, 6 months, tells Fabulous that she’s "always been curvy and I like being that way. [It's] how I’ll stay."
Although she went into her pregnancy very fit, having just finished her run with Strictly Come Dancing, Emma reveals she "pigged out, I promise you" during her nine months. Currently a size 6, Emma explains that she took her postpartum period more slowly than her bandmates Mel Brown and Geri Halliwell, who hired trainers.
I didn’t feel any great pressure. It takes a while to lose the baby weight, but I didn’t feel I had tostarve myself. And obviously, going straight on tour hurried thingsalong a bit! I breastfed for four months, which helped. I did everything in moderation. I went to the gym three times a week, not seven — being stuck on a running machine for hours on end is so dull.
Click below for info on how she adjusted her eating — but still included her chocolate vice!
I wanted to do everything naturally without going ona strict diet. I made sure I got the right nutrients, just in smallerportions. If I felt hungry, I snacked on fruit. A diet withoutchocolate was never going to work. There are some things you can’t denyyourself. As much chocolate as possible, please!

Emma seems like such a down to earth person and she looks great. I think it’s so nice to see a celebrity that has curves and is not a size 0. It’s nice that she wasn’t in such a hurry to lose baby weight and eats chocolate

Oh yes, my chocolate was a vital part of my postpartum regimen as well!
I actually am about 3 months post right now, and we are nursing and planning to continue at least to 8 months and hopefully a year, and so far that’s worked for weight loss. (Yes, I am one of THOSE people this time around and feel very lucky about it. With my son I kept the fat on until 6 months when I stopped BFing).
But my tone is terrible. I started doing some of those exercises where you use the baby as a weight and they seem helpful (or at least make me feel like I’m doing something!!!)

When I was younger, I idolized her. Now, as a young adult (22), I’m so happy that she was the person I looked up to. She has the right view on life, and she isn’t stressed because she’s not a size 0. She’s someone that girls should look up to. I know I did, and I’m so glad I did. She seems like such a wonderful woman.

I am such a big fan of the Spice Girls and she has always been my favourite. I like that she is so down to earth and that she is a size 6 and not a 0 and she doesn’t weigh 100 lbs. She weighs more which is FINE. She is a normal woman.

She sounds very down to earth and realistic with her goals, which is important. Good for her.
