Michelle Williams and Matilda go for a walk in NYC
Actress Michelle Williams, 27, and her "New York kid," daughter Matilda Rose, 2, went for a walk in New York City on Sunday, March 16th. Matilda seemed to be enjoying her little scooter. Dad is the late Heath Ledger.

I love that Michelle has a helmet on Matilda for the scooter. I’m amazed at the number of people whose kids wear them for bikes, but not for rollerblades or scooters. One day where I work and parents would change their minds!!
I hope Michelle and Matilda have lots of support, I can’t help but feel incredible saddness and sympathy.

The Uggs are cute, but the little plaid coat just makes the whole outfit! Is it a thrift store find?
I love seeing these two out and about. As a mom, and a woman, Michelle is my hero!

I am such a fan of them both as well as little Matilda. She has always been one of favorite celeb babies. Glad to see that they’re both coping well. One thing that I think might be helping is the fact that since the split, Michelle had taken Matilda with her on movie shoots so she was already used to not seeing him every day. I’m sure Matilda must somehow feel like “Daddy is just not with us right now”. I’m sure she can’t comprehend the fact that daddy is never coming back. I know that when my dad died when I was 5, I sat on the porch for months thinking that his car was just going to pull up in the drive way like usual. Very sad, but it was a coping method.

YOU CANT HELP BUT GET EMOTIONAL WHEN LOOKING AT THESE BEAUTIES….I THINK WE ALL FEEL THE ABSENCE THERE. MANY PRAYERS OF STRENGTH OUT TO MICHELLE ON BEING A WONDERFULLY STRONG WOMAN AND MOTHER.

It’s so tragic that you can see the pain in Michelle’s face, but little Matilda has no idea what has happened. They are such a beautiful mother-daughter pair though

Such a beautiful, amazing woman, with an equally beautiful and amazing daughter. It’s tragic to see the pain in Michelle’s eyes, though.
Also, does anyone knows where Michelle’s boots came from? I am in LOVE with them!

Always wonderful to see them both out and about.
So sad to see this beautiful little girl grow up without her doting father. But nevertheless she will be brought up with much love and will be surrounded by happy, fond and cherished memories of her father.
He’s looking down on her for sure.

Sarah’s note: Yes, she is very tall for not even being 2 1/2 yet! Heath was 6′1″, I think she’ll take after him height-wise rather than Michelle.

I was going to comment the same thing as Lisa – Matilda looks alot older/bigger than 2!
There is a pic of the 2 of them in Us or People and looks like Matilda has a new bob haircut. She is the image of Michelle in the pic. I’ve only ever seen Heath in her. I’ll try and find the pic.

matilda is too cute! i just love love love seeing these pictures of her. i can’t tell you how much respect i have for michelle williams. she is obviously a very “hands on” mother and it’s beyond clear that that precious daughter of hers is her #1 priority. given all the hoopla and attention that has been surrounding them for the past couple of months, seeing michelle out and about in brooklyn making attempts like these to give matilda as much of a normal upbringing as possible is great to see. looks like no one needs to worry about matilda – she has a great mommy and seems to be very much loved and taken care of

it breaks my heart every time i see this beautiful baby girl and im reminded just how amazing her daddy was. she is his absolute double and thats a great gift to be left with. also helps his fans to know that he lives on very much so in little matilda x x
