Lisa Marie Presley says husband is experiencing Couvade Syndrome
Like many husbands and partners before him, Michael Lockwood is finding himself battling pregnancy symptoms — right alongside his pregnant wife, singer Lisa Marie Presley, 40. The phenomenon, called Couvade Syndrome, is nothing new — and Lisa Marie says she finds it amusing.
He has all my symptoms. He feels like his belly is getting big, and he has the same appetite I have. He’s having reflux and was nauseous the other day. It’s funny.
As for her own pregnancy symptoms, Lisa Marie says that she does have food cravings and so far they’ve been healthy ones.
Fruit — it’s boring but that’s what I want. Any fruit: fruit smoothie, fruit juice — it’s good!

The child/ren, due early this fall, will be Lisa Marie’s third (and possibly fourth); She already has 18-year-old Riley and 15-year-old Benjamin from a previous marriage.
Oh yeah, they’ll help out. I’ll be at the bar and they’ll be babysitting. Just kidding!
One thing she’s not kidding about: maternity clothes.
I’m trying to avoid it as long as possible!

that is too funny!!! My ex husband gained about 10 pounds when I was pregnant with our daughter. But, I had no morning sickness. The only thing I had was exhaustion and some wicked heartburn from 5 months on. He didn’t have any though.

I wished my children’s father had this syndrome when I was pregnant because had he felt what I actually went through, he would have been a compassionate, understanding and appreciative of my having to carry another human being inside of me. So, Lisa Marie, I am glad that your husband shares your pregnancy feelings along with you. I think Couvade Snydrome is neat, funny and strange. And, your craving for fruit tells me that you will have a baby girl!
I had the same craving with my daughter, but with my son, I craved meat!

I heard rumors lisa may be expecting twins, although it seems that rumor is applying to every pregnant celebrity now lol. I do know lisa’s grandma which is priscilla’s mom, had twin boys though and twins run in priscilla’s family, also elvis had a twin brother that died at birth. So you never know. I think lisa will have a girl. I really like lisa, she seems nice and down to earth. Priscilla danced great on DWTS too, I gave her all my votes.

My husband does the same thing.. he gets funny cravings (like apple pancakes and ice cream sandwiches) at odd hours of the day, pigs out like he’s feeding 2 people, and lately, has been getting really bad heartburn, even though he’s never gotten it before. I don’t think he realizes what’s going on, but he’s been extremely compassionate and caring during my pregnancy. I wish every man could experience that!

With my second I had the same fruit craving. I had tons of fruit salad. With the first one it was pasta bolognese. They are both girls.

I think Couvade Syndrome is just men feeling sorry for themselves and trying to get attention.

I wouldn’t quite make the leap to say he was experiencing Couvade Syndrome, but my hubby gained half the weight I did with each of my pregnancies! LOL! With my first I gained 60, he gained 30, with my second, I gained 50, he gained 25, and with my now four month old daughter, I gained 28, he gained 15lbs…we both have already lost that weight though!

Why is there all these “TWIN” pregnancies all of a sudden??
I see of course all the celebs are jumping on the band wagon..
How strange that JLo Maria Cross, Angelina Jolie and now possibly Lisa Marie have conveniently had twin births all within the same 2 years (among other celebs)
How odd???

fiona- As MB pointed out, it hasn’t been confirmed that Angelina is pregnant with twins. Like with Lisa Marie, it is just a rumor (and considering it orginated in Star and, I think, Life & Style, I’m take it with an entire salt shaker! Star and Life & Style are the two most unreliable tabloids out there).
Anyway, I think the reason we’re seeing more twins lately is because most of the celebs having them (like Marcia Cross and J-Lo) are in their late 30s or early 40s. Naturally occuring twin pregnancies are more common in older women. Also, a lot of celebs who have had twins lately have admitted to using fertility treatments such as IVF (Marcia Cross, for example, admitted that she and her husband Tom used IVF to conceive Eden and Savannah). As we all know, twin pregnancies are quite common with IVF.
That said, what amazes me is how many celebs the tabs have claimed are having twins lately! So far the tabs have claimed that Jessica Alba, Angelina, Nicole Kidman, and Lisa Marie are expecting twins. The Jessica rumor is definitely not true, as she denied it to People Magazine herself. It’s also highly unlikely that the Nicole rumor is true, considering she is still barely showing.
As for Lisa Marie and Angelina…I wouldn’t be that surprised if Lisa Marie is, given her age, but I highly doubt that Angelina is (mostly because, in recent pics of her, she looks just the right size to be due with one baby in the summer).
Anyway, next the tabloids will be saying that Gwen Stefanis having twins (hopefully Tori Spelling will be able to escape that rumor as she has pretty much confirmed that she is only having one baby by announcing that she’s having a girl)!
