According to TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello Merrin was dropped because test audiences did not feel she fit in well with the cast. Anyway, congratulations to Merrin! She looks very happy!

I doubt she was telling anyone she was pregnant when she was dropped from PP, if she even was pregant back then. More than likely she quit so she could start a family or decided she might as well get pregnant since she was not on the show.

Besides no studio in their right mind would drop a pregnant actress after the Hunter Tylo/Aaron Spelling fiasco. She was hired for Melrose Place and then fired when she said she was pregnant. She sued and won mega bucks.

I liked her on King of queens. I didn’t see any other show. She looks very pregnant.

I bet that’s why she was dropped from Private Practice, Vicky. I don’t think the timing is off. If she’s due this month or next she’d have gotten pregnant in June or July and the show didn’t air till September and I remember she was replaced kind of last minute, so that seems to add up. My roomate and I were so bummed when she got replaced but I guess it was for a good reason, haha.

Yes, she played Kelly on King of Queens, who was Deacon’s wife. Major was their son on the show.
