"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Sophie Kodjoe celebrates her third birthday, princess style

Tags: Kids, News, Quotes

Actors Boris Kodjoe, 35, and Nicole Ari Parker Kodjoe, 37, celebrated the third birthday of their daughter Sophie Tei-Naaki Lee earlier this month with princess tea party in their Atlanta, GA home.

Posh Tot Events planned the fête, which included serving each of the preschooler girls — who were all dressed as princesses — tea in real china cups before they were given a charm lesson, where the girls were reminded to keep elbows off the table and not to speak with their mouths full. Each guest left with a painted face and a satin gift bag. The party was a huge hit and one the kids really enjoyed, according to Nicole and Boris. Nicole said,

Sophie’s at the age where she’s getting into dress-up. Up until 3, it’s a party for the parents.

Boris laughed that this year’s party definitely beat out the second birthday celebration.

We had something similar last year — we had ‘Dora the Explorer.’ The kids were afraid of her. Dora was my height!

Boris and Nicole are also parents to son Nicolas Neruda, 16 months.

Oh, what fun for a little girl! I would have loved a tea party as a child. Looks like there were some superheros along with all the princesses.

We did a tea party for my daughter’s 6th birthday. It was a fairy tea party. We decorated the dining room with “fairy dust” and flowers. I made sandwiches and cut them out in butterfly and tulips shapes. I served chocolate milk and lemonade in antique tea pots. We had cookies and a cake that I made and decorated myself. I made these cute, but kind of elaborate, goodie bags. The girls (12 of them) got to make wands. I had pre-made floral crowns for them to wear. I did face painting of butterfly wings on their faces. It was so much fun, but lots of time and money. This year we went “simple” and had her party at an inflatable jumpy house place. So much nicer, and no fairy dust to vacuum up later.

Dana, love your fairy princess tea party idea!! I may totally have to borrow some of those bullets when my daughter’s old enough. :) Boris & Nicole came into the Border’s in Dunwoody (Here in Atlanta) on Saturday and were so nice!! They stopped to sign a few autographs and their son was very well behaved during the fuss. Sophie wasn’t with them, but they definitely seemed like a loving, happy family!

Wow Dana it sounds like you had a fabulous 6th birthday party for your daughter. It makes me wish my girls were young enough to enjoy that kind of stuff again. Little girls are so much fun.
