James_wilkieJames Wilkie Broderick, 5, son of actors Matthew Broderick, 46, and Sarah Jessica Parker, 43, is already showing signs of interest in politics. Sarah was at a N.Y. press junket on Saturday for the movie Smart People and told reporters:

"He’s very into Barack Obama. On his own! He’s really, truly into this election. He’s come to this conclusion on his own based specifically on Barack’s gender. It’s that deep. He’s a fan and true supporter of Barack Obama."

But James isn’t all about politics either. Sarah says he enjoys building things and spending time with his parents.

"Right now he’s pretty taken with both myself and my husband. So we’ll play blocks with him and he’s really into Legos right now and he’s really into Star Wars."

Click below for more from the interview, including which daily chore Sarah enjoys doing with her son.

Sarah is enjoying all of her moments spent with her son, saying:

"It’sonly a matter of time before he doesn’t want me around. Honestly, Ilove to do everything with him as long as he will have me around.[Even] brushing his teeth with him is enjoyable right now."

James seems to be such a cute kid and nice to have around. I give five for his good “likes” at such an early age. doesn’t surprise me, though!

  2. legemc Says:

I think he may have had a little help with that decision….otherwise, if it was specifically on gender he could have gone with McCain also! :-)

  3. Shelby Says:

Yay, I LOVE this family, especially little James’ likes :) Go Obama!! Legemc I think it was not only gender because you are right that McCain would have been an available choice. However, I know that he is surrounded by many gay and lesbian friends so that may have impacted his decision. I always remember SJ talking about how open and loving they are about that which is amazing! Hopefully America will vote the same way.

  4. Beverley Says:

Oh My God, please let’s not get into a politics debate here on CBB. Let this be a refuge from that!!!

  5. terri Says:

    Uhm, who’s debating?

    Cute kid.

  6. UggaMugga.com Says:

Well, I couldn’t disagree more with his political candidate of choice, but do agree with his love of Legos! As does my son!

  7. Jan Harrison Says:

We would love to have you make a statement with this Obi-Wan Obama toddler shirt prior to the democratic convention and the release of the new Star Wars animation, The Clone Wars. Thanks for checking it out. Jan
