At home with Kristi Yamaguchi and family
Dancing With the Stars contestant Kristi Yamaguchi posed with her family in the latest issue of People. The 36-year-old Olympic champion figure skater shares her Raleigh, NC home with NHL player husband Bret Hedican, 37, and daughters Keara Kiyomi, 4 ½, and Emma Yoshiko, 2. Also photographed with partner Mark Ballas, 21, Kristi said,
I got burnt out on skating. I was ready to focus on being a mom. [The girls] love being on the ice, but I wouldn’t say they’re open to instruction at this point. I don’t know how my mom got up at 4 every morning to take me to the rink, but now I can see why she did it. You do anything to make your kids happy. My life has slowed down. I’m comfortable just being Mom.

The girls have gotten big since the last time I saw them. I think the last time I saw them was when Keara was around Emma’s age, and Emma was just a newborn baby.
Must say, Bret is pretty damn handsome!

Bret is one of my favorite hockey players!! And Kristi is one of my all time favorite figure skaters. Her girls are gorgeous!! mark and Kristi are great on DWTS!

Wow I love her family. It’s ironic that their house is only 30 minutes away from where I live! She’s definitely my favorite contestant on Dancing with the Stars.
