"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Jennie Garth contemplates on competition between mothers

Tags: News, Quotes

031808jenniegarth_2Actress Jennie Garth, 36, may seem to be a great mother, but she admits that in the eternal ‘mompetition’ — competition between mothers — she sometimes feels like losing it. She and husband Peter Facinelli, 34, have daughters Luca Bella, 10 ½, Lola Ray, 5, and Fiona Eve, 18 months.

I admit it: There are times when I see a mom doing something special for her kid (something that I don’t do for my kids) and I think I should be more like her. I get this brief moment of inadequacy and it makes me think I need to be doing more as a mom. I know it’s ridiculous, but that’s how I feel.

Like on St. Patrick’s Day, there was this mom who had made a lunch bag for her kid with all green foods—a green bagel, green Jell-O—and on the outside of the bag she wrote all nice and cute, "You are my lucky four-leaf clover!" I thought to myself, "Oh man, I didn’t do that for my kids. Maybe I could have. Maybe I should have!"

are they like doing a crocs ad or what? LOL

they all look cute though :)

  2. finnaryn Says:

See? I think that we moms already put enough preasure on ourselves that we don’t need others making us feel bad about breastfeeding vs. bottle feeding, different types of childbirth, cloth vs. disposable diapers, names we choose for our kids. The list goes on.

20 years from now, Jennie’s kids are not going to remember that she didn’t put a green bagel in their lunch. They are going to remember the years and years of cuddles and kisses. That is what makes a mom a super mom! :)

I love the photo. It is from a recent Redbook article.
Also, I can’t wait to see Peter in the Twilight movie!

I think it’s very nice to see honesty about the challenges of life and parenting. Nice to see that not all celebrities think they are superhuman :)

So true! Women need to CHILL!! Gosh! I work with all women all day long (RN nurse-only one male nurse on our floor) and women just tear each other down all the time! It should not be a competition of the “best parent”! Jenny sounds like a great mother to me-just like the rest of us on hear!
Love to all the mothers out there doing their best!

  9. Kelly Says:

i heard a rumor that she was pregnant is there anything else on that?

Ok, but I think we all need to stop putting the emphasis on what other mothers are doing, and how that can make us feel inadequate. When it comes down to it, shouldn’t our parenting choices be more about raising our children “right” versus validating ourselves? Parenting is ALL ABOUT personal choices and everyone parents differently based on culture, means, and personal experience. I’m sure Jennie is a wonderful mother.

After all, how does she know it wasn’t the awesome nanny who packed that lunch? ;)
