Karla Martinez talks pregnancy, baby names, and her new book
Mexican co-host of the morning talk show, Despierta America, Karla Martinez, 31, has been so busy this last year as a co-host, a writer, and a mother to her daughter, Antonella, 1, that she has had little time to stop and enjoy her life. Now, pregnant with her second child with her husband, Mexican engineer Emerson Peraza, 34, she is ready to take a break and give all her attention to her family and the new baby.
Karla has spent the last few years writing a book called El Poder De Una Sonrisa (The Power of a Smile) and has had little time to be with her daughter, but with the book finished and an upcoming three month maternity leave from her morning show, her time spent will soon be all for her family life.
I wasn’t with my daughter hours and hours, but I managed to write a book that comes from the heart. It’s now time to give all my attention to my family and this new baby.
Karla, who is due in October, has not found out the sex of the baby, but they have decided on names — Micaela for a girl and Maximiliano for a boy.
