Alison Stewart still waiting on baby to make its arrival
Alison Stewart, who many may remember from MTV News, recently went on maternity leave from her job as host at NPR. And while the 41-year-old was due to give birth to her first child on April 24th, she reports in a new blog entry that there is no sign of the baby as of yet. Alison also wrote about the world’s current medical situation.
Okay, my maternity leave has now turned political.
I, a person who has insurance, an amazing doctor, a couple of brain cells that work and enough confidence to question the system, have experienced in the past 16 hours our broken medical system at one of the best hospitals in the country.
I got caught up in an overcrowded, understaffed hospital which led a night-long cycle of being checked in, checked out, checked in, checked out. IV in, IV out. Let’s just say what was supposed to happen didn’t.
Without divulging too much of my own personal information, I’ll just say I’ve been thinking all morning about how much time TV and radio, as well as the campaigns, have wasted on trivial issues when people are struggling just to get basics like food, housing and health care.
No baby yet. All is well, but I am back at home.
Alison and her husband, MSNBC prime time VP Bill Wolff, have been married since November 2006.

Wow. I thought that she was like, ten years younger. There’s something about her that reminds me of Simon Cowell’s girlfriend, Terri Seymour, who also has a similar naturally curly hairstyle, beautifully shaped eyes and tawny complexion.
Can’t wait to see her baby. And her “baby accoutremand” and/or setup.

she was due April 24th and STILL hasn’t had her baby???? I’d be freaking out! I know due dates aren’t always reliable since babies come out whenever they want to,but is it healthy to be that late?

She’s only a week and a half late. First babies are often are.

I had to laugh at the juxtaposition of her jobs at MTV and NPR. Definitely very different scenes, haha. I’ve had a similar healthcare experience and think she makes a good point.
