Brooke Shields and family star in marketing campaign
Actress Brooke Shields, 42, husband Chris Henchy, and their daughters Rowan Francis, 5 next week, and Grier Hammond, 2, will star in the print marketing campaign for the launch of Royal Velvet products at Bed Bath & Beyond, which debuts in June in shelter, bridal, and lifestyle magazines. The images feature the family lounging on a bed, couch, and by the pool while surrounded by Royal Velvet towels and bedding.
In a statement, Brooke said,
At this point in my career, I only do projects that I believe in.Royal Velvet made sense for me and my family because it felt authentic andit is a classic brand with amazing products. Aroyal moment for me is when one of my daughters holds my face in her handsand says, ‘oh, so pretty mama,’ it makes me feel like a princess.

I’m not keen on people using their children as marketing tools. It’s fine for an adult celeb to put their name or face to a brand, but those children didn’t get the opportunity to say yes or no. This is the same reason why I won’t put my daughter in clothes with brands or tv characters on them, she’s not a billboard for some network! That said, the photo is gorgeous, I just wish it was for their family album instead.

I always love how celebrities that do advertising justify their reason for it. It’s towels!
The photo is beautiful though.

Catherine what works for you is fine but it’s not fair to judge Brooke for placing her family in this ad.You don’t know her personally.

I agree that the choice has to be on a case-by-case basis, for each family. But while these kids might not be able to say yes or not to the advertisements/public life, can any child? There are tons of children in various ads and I’d argue that none of them have any more say than these children. If no parents were to let their kids be in advertisements, think about how vastly different marketing would be – look at the ads on this page alone, there are children in some of them.
Maybe Rowan and Grier will have more attention on their ad due to their parents’ status, but maybe their parents are also better equipped with past experiences and other resources to deal with that.
Plus, their faces are all over anyway when they don’t earn money for it that could go to a charity or a trust for the children for future use.

Wow she puts a ton of thought into her towels lol Hmmm Maybe i should pay more attention to the material that dries our bodies lol sorry to poke fun but I find it comical to see so much thought put into a brand of towels. What’s next, an endorsement for bath mats?? hehe

This family is gorgeous! And look at that smile on Grier’s face; too cute!!
Also, I agree that the children probably didn’t have a say in whether or not they wanted to be in the ad but unless you really follow the celebrity’s family (like we all do, obviously) then you probably won’t even know that’s their children. Even her husband; some people might not realize that’s him. I don’t really think seeing them in an ad is any different than all of us coming here and looking at papparazi/magazine photos of them.

We have seen plenty of pictures of brooke’s children in general, and I’m sure we will continue to do so, so the ad is no different than being on this site and seeing the kids IMO. Rowan is such a beautiful child, she is totally a mini brooke, same eyes and features like her mom. Grier looks exactly like her dad, I see no brooke in her looks. Between cindy crawford’s beautiful daughter Kaia who is also her mini me and rowan, we have have a new generation of models I bet
