Jessica Alba confirms that she’s having a girl, gives nursery peek
Confirming that she and fiancé Cash Warren are expecting a baby girl, Jessica Alba shows a recreation of the baby’s eco-friendly nursery in the latest issue of Us Weekly. Although yes, a daughter is on the way, don’t necessarily believe the rumors about her name — Jessica said it hasn’t been chosen yet!
I’m waiting — we’re not sure what the name is going to be. My name was Faradon Luisa for three days. I don’t want to make that mistake with my kid!
Jessica, 27, revealed that she and Cash plan to put the finishing touches on the nursery with baby photos of various family members, but for now, they’re quite happy with the almost-completed room. Working with designer Kari Whitman, the pair decided on a lavender, pink, and white color scheme. They also wanted hippie-style embellishments while staying as green as they could. Jessica explained,
That’s the way I live. Kari respects and shares my views on being as green as possible. I’ve been into anything ecofriendly or sustainable for a little while now, and I wanted to make this environment as nontoxic as possible. When I was doing research on furniture, I thought NurseryWorks was really cute. I told them I wanted formaldehyde-free wood and low-VOC [Volatile Organic Compounds] paint, and they were like, ‘That’s our line.’
It’s not just for one sex: If we have a boy in a few years, it’s something I can use. Also, all of the furniture grows with the kids: The bed becomes a toddler trundle, and the changing table can be just another dresser.
Jessica and Cash’s baby girl is due in late May.

Another nursery with chandeliers? I mean, the room is cute, but where the chandeliers are placed I’d be afraid they’d fall into the crib.
But the room as a whole is very nice, and I like that it’s so eco-friendly!
Whoa, and she was going to be named Faradon Luisa? She definitely doesn’t look like that name…lol.

Wow that’s definatly a pink room. Love the sconces on the wall and the LOVE picture is cute.

Love the room!! I would be concerned about the chandeliers a little, but maybe that was for the photo shoot? I hope they are at least anchored really well to that wall!! I can’t wait to see Jessica’s baby!!!

I love that “hippie elements” are resurging in different venues. Clothes, hairstyles, baby rooms. There seems to be a real nostalgia for elements of that culture. I’m itching myself to become a composter. Not there yet, but getting there.
Celebrities often say that they want to give something back. Well, I think that they do–just by heightening the awareness of “living green”. Kudos and best wishes to Jessica for sharing the details of her nursery.

so cute. the love poster is sweet but the rug cost more than the crib? LMAO.

awww how cute! the nursery looks amazing!

If you read the article they state that the picture is actually a recreation of the nursery, and that it is in a showroom. In that context, it makes a lot of sense – stick as much of the room “feel” as you can into a small space. So the lights make a lot of sense, since the crib is the “mantle-piece” if you will.

I think the pink walls are heinous beyond belief but I like the rest!
I myself love pink and did a lot of pink accents for my daughter’s room but I think avoiding Pepto Bismol pink on the walls would be wise.

Not my style (too much pink) but it’s great that she’s so environment-friendly. Best wishes to Jessica and Cash. Their baby girl will, of course, be gorgeous!

Not a fan of the room, but best wishes anyway! I so thought this was a boy! Just don’t see them having a girl? Guess the “Honor” makes sense with the whole hippy vibe (which I also never pictured for Jessica and Cash! Guess I am way off on this one …)

The room is cute and very girly. I don’t know if the baby will be named honor, but I don’t see her naming her daughter a traditional name. It will be something different I think.

It’s not my personal style, but still a nice nursery. I’m especially pleased at jessica’s attempt to show an eco-friendly nursery can still be stylish.
As to the sconces; people, put the torches and pitch forks away! The article says its a recreation of her nursery inside of a store, Bel Bambini. How on earth do you know those aren’t existing fixtures?

I’m surprised to see that Jessica has revealed she IS in fact having a girl. Though I have to admit I thought she looked as if she was carrying a girl
. But she isn’t one to put her personal life out there …. she hates the paps and so on ….. I just find it kindof bizarre. LOL I took it that she painted the room green because she made the statement that it’s not just for one sex so if they have a boy in a couple of years…. I like the bed and changing table it’s different but I wouldn’t spend $1,750 on a RUG! I can’t wait to see their little bundle of joy ….. I bet she’s going to be gorgeous just like mama. Congratulations and best wishes once again to Jessica and Cash.

I am totally in love with that rug….though I hope they realize before long it will be covered in spit-up :0) Probably doesn’t matter much to them, but boy would I cry over a ruined rug that is that beautiful and cost as much as it does!
Can’t wait to see this baby, guess it won’t be long!

Awww I love the nursery, full of pink!! This is why I would want to find out the sex of my kids because I would love to have a room full of either blue or pink!!

I am in love with Jessica Alba’s nursery! I love NurseryWorks furniture, and I love that she has the consciousness to try to protect her baby from the toxic chemicals in so many baby products.

I love the furniture in that room. Beautiful!

always fun to see what people choose especially for their first baby–when the whole experience is so incredibly new!! How exciting for her–brings back a lot of memories. Good for her for being eco-friendly.

That’s great that the nursery is so eco friendly. The eclectic style isn’t exactly my taste, but it’s cute.

I hope this isn’t her home in Los Angeles! It’s beautiful… but when we had our baby, everyone told us not to hang ANYTHING over the crib in case of an earthquake! Especially not light fixtures!!!
