Boom Boom Room takes center stage in New York City

Boomboomroom1 Swag and celebrities are always a happy mix, and yesterday the love was in full bloom at Jayneoni Moore’s Boom Boom Room.  For the first time ever under the ‘Boom Boom Room’ name, the event — a staple on the celebrity baby circuit for the last four years — ventured outside the confines of Beverly Hills, to a sunlight-flooded (and jam-packed!) studio loft in Manhattan.  From cutting-edge innovation to classics-in-the-making, there was a little something for everyone at this showcase for all the latest in baby and kid gear and fashion.

Colettezoe_3 Constance Zimmer — who took turns with boyfriend Russ Lamoureaux wearing daughter Colette Zoe, 4 ½-months (see photo at right) — was one of the lucky celebrities to be gifted with a teutonia stroller.  A German company just breaking into the American market, teutonia reps revealed that actress Minnie Driver recently fell in love with this fully-customizable strolling system, while working on the registry for the baby she’s expecting in August.  Minnie opted for the t-150 model in cobalt green with kingston walnut accents which, coincidentally, we’re told is the exact same color scheme Constance settled on yesterday, for herself.

The teutonia stroller is unique in that you build it from the wheels up, and it’s perfect for expectant parents who — like Minnie — are opting for a delivery surprise.  Simply purchase an infant car seat in a neutral color and then purchase the t-stroller seat once you know whether you’re thinking pink or blue….or, for that matter, any of teutonia’s 40+ other color choices.  Constance also snagged a Graco SnugRider stroller frame, which seemed to come in handy for toting home all the new gear and supplies she and Russ scored at the event.  Speaking of Graco, Constance was gifted with their new sweetpeace newborn soothing center previously, and reported to the company that it was a big hit with Colette.

Notars_2 Model Emme, mom to daughter Toby Cole, 6 ½, lingered at the Mustela display, telling vendors there that she was already a fan of their line and was eager to learn about what new skincare products the company has on the horizon.  The Happy Heiny’s booth had many happy customers, as well, like Law & Order actress Milena Govich:  She raved that the adorable cloth diapers "are so soft and easy to use, my nephew will love them!"  Happy Heiny’s also received a big thumbs up from Jane Notar, wife of Nobu managing partner Richie Notar and mom to the couple’s adorable 2-year-old daughter Harlow (see photo at left).  Jane thanked Happy Heiny’s for "such great new diapers!

Bebe au Lait — no stranger to regular CBB readers (read our review here) — was on the scene, revealing that Jessica Alba, expecting a daughter with fiancé Cash Warren later this month, recently purchased the Simple nursing cover-up in the color Chocolat.  Speaking of, Bebe au Lait had plenty of the sweet stuff to go around — comedian Chuck Nice was all-too-happy to peruse Bebe au Lait’s collection of gourmet mini-cupcakes before perusing the rest of the room.  Fantaisiekids also offered up some sugar (see photo, below-right) to coordinate perfectly with it’s selection of super-sweet couture accessories and clothing for kids.

Boomboomroom2_3 L’ovedbaby, another CBB regular (read our review here), exhibited at the event and is certainly feeling ‘l’oved’ by Halle Berry.  The 39-year-old actress and new first-time mom to daughter Nahla, 8-weeks on Friday, was so impressed with L’ovedbaby’s Cotton Basics line she purchased 120 pieces total, including 21 blankets and six nursing shawls, all in neutral shades of caramel, sand and white, the company said.

Mollyshannon_2 Saturday Night Live alum Molly Shannon (see photo at left) was thrilled to receive a custom-made CD for her kids Stella, 4, and Nolan, 3, courtesy of Name Your Tune (read our review here). Other celebs who happily made the rounds include Zach Levi from NBC’s Chuck, MTV VJ Lyndsey Rodrigues and Doug Benson, from VH1’s Best Week Ever.

The trend towards natural fabrics shows no signs of slowing, as nearly every apparel vendor at the event offered at least one item in their collection that was certified organic cotton.  The use of bamboo in several different applications was also noteworthy, like that employed in the Lascal M1 baby carrier (read our review here).  A naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic fabric, bamboo is more breathable than cotton, making it ideal for anything that touches baby’s skin.

Over the next week, we’ll be bringing you more detailed information about the products unveiled at yesterday’s event. The Boom Boom room benefits the Jayneoni Moore Children’s Fund — a 501(c)(3) charity funding reading programs and books for low income areas.
