Update: Nancy Kerrigan welcomes daughter Nicole Elizabeth
Update: The Boston Herald is reporting that Nancy and Jerry have named their daughter Nicole Elizabeth. She was 18 3/4 inches long and has brown hair and long legs.
Originally posted May 14th: Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan has welcomed her third child — a daughter. The 6 lbs, 12 oz baby girl was delivered by c-section at 8 am on Wednesday, May 14th, in Winchester, MA, joining brothers Clay, 19 (from Jerry’s first marriage), Matthew, 11, and Brian, 3. Nancy, 38, and husband Jerry Solomon, 53, had chosen to wait for a delivery surprise with this baby, leaving her older brothers to guess as to what she would be.
They’re very excited. Matthew wanted a girl and Brian wanted a boy, and the two would occasionally argue about it, but they’re both looking forward to having a new sibling.
Jerry and Nancy have not yet chosen a name for their little girl. Nancy explained,
I think that is the hardest job, to pick a name for somebody. We are not very good at that. Brian thinks Pooper would be good!
Jerry said,
Nancy will be in the hospital for a few days recovering from the c-section, but [we're] looking forward to coming home with a new addition.
The pregnancy was announced in January.

how lovely a girl after 3 boys, congrates to u both, can’t wait to here her name.why is the headline “welcomes third child” she has 3 boys so this is her 4th child

^ This is her third child. The first boy listed is her husband’s from his first marriage.
Congrats to them, hope they release the name when they decide on one.

I respect your opinion jane but I disagree. People and US have not even reported on Jerry’s oldest son, they’ve just said Matthew and Brian, so I don’t think Clay lives with them or thinks of Nancy as a mom. Who knows though you may be right. I just think Jerry and Nancy would have included him in the statement this morning if he was that involved you know?
Again can’t wait to hear the name when it is chosen.

We don’t know whether Nancy calls him her child so until we do, I don’t think it is incorrect to say that it is their 3rd child together.
I’m happy for Nancy. I know she’s had trouble carrying babies to term.

I also think it would be considered there third. Unless she specifies otherwise. Clay is 18 so he might not be as involved in there family. Also i come from a step parent family and neither of my step parents consider me their kid(and i’ve known both since i was 7-8). Although I know some parents do consider step kids their kids it just depends on the family.

Aw, how sweet — the new baby will have three big brothers, and I bet they’ll all dote on her, even Brian who wanted a boy.
I know Nancy was devastated by her miscarriages and it took a long time for her to be able to conceive Brian, so I’m happy for her that she now has three healthy children.

I want to say CONGRATS to them!!
When Nancy suffered many miscarriages, I did as well, right around the same time. I felt so bad for her.
I’m just so happy for her, and her entire family. Congrats again to them!!
