Update: Angelina Jolie confirms twins rumors
Promoting her new film Kung Fu Panda at Cannes with co-star and fellow expectant parent Jack Black, actress Angelina Jolie, 32, confirmed rumors that she and Brad Pitt are expecting twins.

Rumor Update: Fox News is reporting that Angelina, herself, has suggested that the twins are not identical. Angelina told Fox reporter Roger Friedman at a party last night that "there was a line" on a sonogram which left the couple with the impression that the twins are fraternal.
Update: Not only did fellow co-star Jack Black confirm that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are expecting twins, but another co-star, Dustin Hoffman, shared the due date of August 19th with Natalie Morales.When asked about her older children, the actress stated,
Our daughter’s very proud that she’s African. And our boys are very proud that they’re Asian –- they know about their country … down to their food or their flags or their music.
Angelina is also very proud of her children’s curiosity in regards to the world.
[They] ask great questions about life. They ask questions about war that are poignant and spot-on, because they’re the questions we should all be asking ourselves.
Originally posted May 14th: In an interview with the Today show’s Natalie Morales (due with baby #2 herself on September 16th), Jack let the news slip, saying, "You’re gonna have as many as [the] Brady Bunch when you have these." When asked by Natalie if she is indeed expecting two, Angelina replied,
Yeah, yeah, we’ve confirmed that already. Well, Jack’s just confirmed it actually. We’re out. We’re fine. I’m very happy. Like most women, I love being pregnant … You just feel like everything about your body is there for your baby.
When Natalie asked about the sexes of the babies, Angelina said, "We would like to keep that private." Regarding delivering in France, the reply was "possibly."
I actually haven’t completely decided, but we are thinking of France.
The interview airs this evening on Access Hollywood, and tomorrow morning on Today.
Angelina has also confirmed again in a separate interview, this time on French television. When told, "The rumor is that you are expecting twins," Angelina replied, "Yes, we are."
Kung Fu Panda is in theaters on June 6th. The twins will be the fifth and sixth children for Angelina and Brad.

Wow, think about how much THOSE baby pictures will go for! On the one hand, people might have been super curious about Shiloh pics as she was the first biological child of both Brad and Ang, and the relationship was still new-ish, etc. Maybe the second baby’s pictures wouldn’t have fetched quite as much (who knows, maybe they would have) but now that it looks like twis for sure, that brings a whole new level of intrigue!
On a side note, I was lucky enough to interview Angelina during one of her press junkets for Tomb Raider II back when she was pre-brad but already a mom to Maddox. You could really hear the love in her voice when she spoke about him and she seemed to be a great mom.

I knew it! She got big way too fast for it to be a singleton. Second pregnancies do cause women to get larger, faster, but not like that. I’m so happy for them! 6 kids under 7 is…WOW! Even with all the help in the world those two are definitely awesome!
I can only imagine how much those pictures will go for, if they do decide to sell them. I have a feeling a family potrait of some kind will probably be worth far more than just a picture of the twins.
I’m really happy for Shiloh for some reason. Being one of three biological “Brangelina” babies is a much bigger blessing than being the only one.

Holy Twins Craze!!! Now I really can’t wait to see their new addition! Shiloh looks just like Angelina, so stunning. I wish them healthy babies of course, but i’m secretly wanting them to have a boy if it comes out it’ll be fraternal twins or twin boys. Congrats to the Pitt-Jolie clan!

Looks like the tabolids were right for months they said it was twins. I have a feelings it’s girl/boy twins. Shiloh is beautiful, so i’m sure these two babies will too. I’m thinking in another year or two they will adopt a child for zahara because shiloh will have her bio siblings and they adopted pax for maddox and than I think that’s it for them, cause they will have a lot of kids close in age. Can’t wait to see their babies. You would never think angelina is pregnant with twins, she looks great.

I’m French and I watched the interview of her and Dustin Hoffman. She talked about how great it was to be in a movie that her 6 children could watch, and then when asked if Brad and her were expecting twins she answered “yes we are”. ( sorry for the poor English by the way..!! )

she also confirmed it about an hour ago on live on french television, but i didn’t know she had already confirmed it earlier..
One other thing she may have not said on american tv, is that Maddox is learning french, and that she hopes her others children will do the same thing, because she wants them to be “american and european, and that France is a good place to be..” (sorry, for my english, it was translalted in french, so i couldn’t hear her really…)

I watched this on TV, and she seemed really happy- I could hear the love in her voice. I hope she gives birth here in France as it’s the most beautiful country in the world- and perhaps they could live here??

Oh my gosh, I am really shocked! I thought for sure it would be only one baby. That would be cool if at least one of the twins was a boy, but obviously its more important as long as they are all happy and healthy. Shiloh is gonna have a lot of competition!
So that makes 3 adopted and 3 biological kids…I bet they will stop after adopting one more baby African brother/sister for Zahara.

my aunt recently had twin girs, you would never know to look at her that it was two she was carrying. like angelina, she is quite small before pregnancy and carried it all on her belly, whereas JLo is of a bigger, curvy build (although still slim), and gained weight all over.
she looks lovely! yay! (and i’m hoping for boy/boy or boy/girl. wanna see a mini brad!)

Most of the celebrity couples having twins have had some sort of fertility treatment, and that often causes multiples. That’s why there have been so many twins born lately in Hollywood.
As far as I know Angelina/Brad haven’t had fertility treatments, right? I remember they got pregnant with Shiloh right away.
Wouldn’t it be crazy if they gave birth to identical girls? Or boys? I mean, such beautiful identical celebrity babies from Brad/Angie would be overwhelming.

Sooo amaaazed by the story! I did not believe it al all.. I still could not believe it until I heard it ‘from the horse his mouth’. Since she isn’t that big at all. Maybe her due date is later than we’ve all thought untill so far. Maybe she was only 3 months, back at the end of February, instead of 4 to 5. Which could mean we have wait another 2 to 3 months before we have any information about the new brood of this beautiful family :’(!! Its strange how connected the whole world (including me) seems to feel to them..
It’ll be also two new tattoo’s for mommy, this time the same longtitude numbers..
Excited for her interview tomorrow with the same woman who interviewed her in Namibia..

I remember an interview Angelina did last late fall/winter (even before she confirmed her second pregnancy) she mentioned something about having a baseball team of kids in the end…or I remember Brad saying something similar at about the same time, so obviously they’ve known about the twins for most of the pregnancy.
Still twins are quite a surprise indeed! I hope the rest of Angelina’s pregnancy goes well and that she has a healthy set of twins as close to due date as possible.
I’d love to see them have at least one biological son someday (for the young-Brad effect, if noting else! lol!), but even if this pregnancy is girls, that’s cool too.

I can’t see them doing any fertility treatments, not that there’s anything wrong with it. Angelina got pregnant with Shiloh the first month she tried. I also think that they would adopt before resorting to fertility treatments. I’m just thinking out loud. Not passing judgement.

Poppy, Yes, Angelina did say she got pregnant with Shiloh right away, but many women have what’s called “secondary infertility” and have it for a variety of reasons. Not saying this is Angelina, but one easily brought about pregnancy does not always results in another.
Louise, they wouldn’t have had to have IVF to result in twins if they underwent fertility treatments. There are several other treatment options which are likely to result in multiples, such as IUI or induction of hyper-ovulation.

I agree with you terri. They obviously love to adopt and give children a better home, then they normally would have. And they certainly have the funds to adopt OR have fertility treatments, but I doubt seriously they had fert treatments. Could be wrong. COngrats to them all and best wishes. I have 3 kids and only 1 baby and I was dying while running errands today with just the baby!

I also wonder about all the twins nowadays, it seems much more common. Years ago when twins were born it was almost a miracle, today it’s a given.

I, too, thought Angie was only having one…compared to JLo (who was HUGE with her twins), Angie didn’t seem that big…but, hey, what do I know? I had mine one at a time!!
Several people have mentioned having fertility treatments done. I was wondering to those who got pregnant natrually with the first but had treatments for subsequent pregnancies–how long does a doctor normally recommend trying to concieve naturally after a first pregnancy?
I know for a first baby, doctors will ususally insist on couples trying for at least a year before attempting other options, so is it the same for subsequent pregnancies?
I’d appreciate anyone who knows filling me in!
As it relates to Brad and Angelina, Shiloh is just turning two, so assuming they didn’t even start trying unti she was at least a year (I read somewhere they wanted to give Pax time to adjust before bringing in more kids), I don’t think they could have been trying too long before they got pregnant? Surely not long enough to warrent fertility treatments?

Such a beautiful family, can’t wait to see the next bubbas! Angelina seems at her happiest when she’s being a mummy, and Brad just breaks my heart everytime I see him with those kids. If you actually watch the interview she said Like most women she enjoys being pregnant i wish the site would change that quote cause that is not what she said. And Jolies doctor works at the hospital that just had alot of celeb info leaked by an employee who was selling info to tabs and pap sites so i would assume that’s how.

I am very happy for the family. Like said above, she was misquoted about what she said and it was probably not corrected by some sites.
Rumors are a part of the business. It was rumored that Shiloh was twins, or she was a boy named “Africa” so just because there is a rumor, does not make it based on fact. Lately, people have been selling information to the tabloids (the UCLA cases), so maybe this also happened. I also don’t think she, as a healthy 32 year old female not desparate for children would need IVF. Plus, when would she have had time. They were busy and visible all last year. It is not impossible to have multiple births naturally, especially at her age.
I wish folks could just enjoy this family and not overanalyze every word, action, or how many children are seen at a time. I just hope for healthy children as I feel they will be in a happy and loving family.

I wonder if they are going to get married now? They will have 6 kids, I wonder if it’s time now or if they will wait till an even dozen before tying he knot.
Personally, I wouldn’t have one kid, let alone multiple kids with someone without a marriage, but so many people, especially Hollywood types these days, think that marriage is unimportant, so who knows.

kate: i just meant fertility treatment in general seemed unlikely as shiloh was conceived naturally, as many have pointed out.
i said ivf in particular,not knowing of all the treatments etc.
but my point remains the same: some people conceive twins naturally. not necessarily through any kind of treatment. which is kind of what a lot of others have pointed out.

i can only imagine the offer there going to get for the first pics of the babies, move over JLO theres a new set of twins in town. I bet there going to be gorgeous just like Shiloh, it would be nice to see a little boy from brad and angie, and either way the kids will be stunning. I wish them all the best, and hopefully they will be born healthy.

Louise, I wasn’t singleing out your comment about IVF, it happened to be the first one I read.
I also am not making a comment about Angelina’s personal fertility. That’s a private matter and no one’s business. My point in my post was that one pregnancy that occurs easily is not indicative of future pregnancies coming easily, since many women suffer from secondary infertility. So the fact that Shiloh was conceived after one month of trying doesn’t mean that she conceived easily this time. That’s all I was saying. It also seems that when fertility treatments are mentioned, people automatically assume IVF, where there are, several other options when undergoing treatment.
Also to whoever mentioned how often twins occur these days, celebrities or otherwise. That IS actually due to the prevalence of fertility treatments (and possibly hormones in our food supply). The number of women being diagnosed and treated for infertility has shut up in recent decades resulting in multiple births.

I just saw another part of the interview. She said both Zahara and Pax think they’re pregnant too. Zahara thinks she has pigs in her tummy and Pax thinks he’s has monkeys in his. Too too cute. I’m so happy that they are adding to their family.

eeeeeeeeee! I am so happy for them! I also foresee them adopting one more from Africa and then maybe being done. They show me that happiness, crazy, big families are possible. The talk of fertility drugs, etc., always personally puzzle me. Angelina has stated so many times how she is pro adoption. I just don’t see her going to the lengths to get pregnant if she “couldn’t.”

What a beautiful family!
I hope now though that unlike many celebrity couples, that Brad and Angelina stick it out and stay together. I would hate to see them break up. It would be awful for all of those children to have to deal with the difficulties of having parents that live in different homes.
Either way, I am very happy for them. They seem to be very interactive parents who really care for their children and do a lot with them.

Not that it’s anyone’s business, but my opinion is that the twins were conceived without medical assistance. Shiloh is barely 2, and Angelina has mentioned previously that their are twins in their family. it’s really not that odd….twins happen. =)

I must say, I think the the Jolie-Pitt family is one of the most grounded, respectable group of people ever. Wow, I totally didn’t think this one was true! Anyway, I agree with Toni about the fertility treatments. Like Toni said, when would they have had the time for fertility treatments? When you think about it, they spent 2007 doing all of the following:
-Adopting Pax and helping him adjust and settle in.
-Filming several different movies (I know Angie filmed at least two: “Wanted” and “The Changeling”, and I know Brad filmed multiple movies as well, including “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”.)
-Promoting several different movies.
-Attending the premiries of several of their movies.
-Doing their usual charity work.
I can’t imagine where they would have fit in fertility treatments. Also, I’m guessing that they probably didn’t even start trying until Shiloh turned 1 (given the fact that Pax needed time to adjust and settle in). Therefore, they likely got pregnant less than a year after trying, and most doctors won’t even consider fetility treatments for a woman of Angie’s age unless she’s been trying at least a year.
Anyway, if I’m not mistaken, don’t twins run in both Angie and Brad’s families (although all twins running in Brad’s family would mean is that he could have possibly passed on the gene for hyper-ovultion to Shiloh, and to these babies if one or both of them are girls)?
All of that said, I remember Brad saying in an interview a few years ago that he wanted “a house full of girls”. If these babies are girls (which I have a hunch they are), and they adopt an African sister for Z (I’m guessing they’ll adopt a sister for her as they adopted a brother for Maddox), he’ll get his wish!

I’m hoping for at least one boy, I’d love to see that. But most of all I hope for a relaxing pregnancy and two healthy, happy babies (and of course two happy parents and 4 happy siblings.)
I watched another part of that interview and Angelina says that before they bring a new child home they have a “sibling party” – making a big deal out of “you’re going to be a big brother/big sister” and that helps.
It cracked me up when she said that Pax and Zahara both think they have something in their bellies – Zahara has pigs and Pax thinks he has monkeys in there. (She also said Maddox is a pro at this and Shiloh is still a bit too young to really get it.)

I forgot to mention that I agree with Grayson’s girl about being happy for Shiloh. The poor little girl has been under so much scrutiny from the media (and even the general public) since she was born (having Angie’s relationship with her constantly questioned, having rumors fly practically everytime she isn’t seen with her parents and siblings, etc.). Hopefully, now that there will be three bio Jolie-Pitt kids, none of them will be under the intense scrunity and pressure that Shiloh has been under!

Oh what a nice surprise to read Brad and Angelina are expecting twin babies. I’m betting the babies are both girls. It seems every time we read about someone saying “I/we prefer to keep the gender private” the baby turns out a girl. I could be wrong.
I agree with the posters that said they doubted Angelina had fertility treatments because of her first pregnancy where she admitted it was a surprise to conceive so quickly. Yes it is possible an attempt at a second pregnancy could be difficult due to infertility. Didn’t Elisabeth Hasselbeck have that same problem? However I don’t see Angelina pumping herself full of drugs when she’s very willing to adopt and already has a biological child. Then again I could be wrong.
In any case, blessings to them on a safe delivery of both babies.

First, I 100% disbelieve even the slightest notion that Angelina needed fertility assistance. That said, I’m all for it being an alternative when all others fail. Right now I have a cousin who is expecting triplets after years of trying painful, life altaring procedures and being disappointed time after time until finally the jackpot was hit. Angelina is simply being blessed with two children because the egg split IMO. I don’t know genetics to play the his side has them-her side has them (twins that is) game, so I’ll just go with it being God blessing them twice this go around.

Like I said before, I don’t care either way how Jolie conceived these twins, that’s their business and their’s only.
But it does seem that many people here are using negative language to refer to fertility treatments and I think that’s unfortunate. It also seems that there is a lot of misinformation.
Czarina, you asked some intersting questions. My guess would be that a couple Pitt and Jolie’s age who already had a child would be expected to still try for a year before undergoing treatment, as long as everything appeared normal (having regular cycles). The standard of trying for a year for a woman under 35 years and for 6 months for a woman over 35 years is based on a woman who has a regular cycle and who ovulates regularly. When problems become obvious right away, those standards are not necessary (problems such as irregular cycles, absence of ovulation, heavy or extremely painful periods, etc). And also remember that these are guidelines, not requirements.
Also, for some women, success with treatment occurs after one or two cycles because the problems were relatively minor and require only minor intervention.

Actually MariaM2, In older interviews pre-Brad, even before Maddox, Angelina did touch upon the fact that she had fertility issues and I don’t think she thought she’d ever have biological children.I remember reading an article in a Parenting/Babies mag while I was waiting at the doctor’s office.It mentioned celebrities and their fertility problems.I’m not sure though if she did do IVF, because I heard she was taking something called “Clomid” I think.And that makes your chances of multiples higher. I think we all have to remember, just because they are famous, it doesn’t mean they are immune to “regular people problems”. The drugs,drinking and hard party lifestyle from a young age catches up sometimes.

The 19th of August, AJ gave as her delivery date. But since it is twins, she will probably give birth by the end of july.. It does makes sense why she grew so fast. She wasn’t that far along as we all thought she was!
She looks stunning today in Cannes! Just a few more hours and her lovely ‘hubby’ will join her and the unborn twins on the red carpet!!

Shiloh was born in Namibia Africa.
It doesn’t really make her african decent. But I guess in a way she’s “African” But not really.
If your parents are US citizens and lets say they had you in i dont know France. It won’t make you French. Do you know what I mean??? You’re still an American because your parents are American and they aren’t exactly living in your birth place. Which Angie and Brad are not living in Namibia. Therefore Shiloh isn’t really African. Just born there. Which is cool either wayy!

I hope they’re identical, whatever their gender. Mostly just to shup people up about the fertility treatments (identicals cannot be influenced by medical intervention. they’re pure luck).
In any event, why do people think it’s their place to ask such a personal question of people expecting multiples? It’s rude. I’ve heard, “Are they natural?” To which I reply, “No they’re made with artificial sweetener and red dye #40.”

No juliana, it was definitely “And like most women…”. It’s nice to see CBB has got it right. Almost every other website I’ve been to has got it wrong.
It’s funny you mention that keyara. When Brad was talking to Larry King Live last year about his kids heritages some people on this board and many others were all up in arms and protesting because they thought she was American and nothing else.
I personally consider Shiloh to be both but in terms of what Angelina was talking about i.e. her children recognising flags, food and music from their birth countries, I think Shiloh would be too young to be able to do that. I’m sure Brad and Angelina will take steps to ensure she knows about her Namibian roots when she’s a little older.
I think it’s also wonderful that their children are being taught French. It’s such an advantage to have when you’re older; the ability to speak another language. And in the case of Pax, he’s already fluent in English and Vietnamese, once he’s mastered French that will be 3 languages he speaks!

On a side note, I truly do not understand the fascination with wanting to know whether or not someone used fertility treatments to conceive. It doesn’t change anyone’s excitement or joy about the arrival of these children!
As someone that has undergone very painful fertility treatments (and one that is admittedly sensitive about the issue), I have to admit that I find it hard to read some of the comments about it. People talk about assisted reproductive technology as if one is some kind of leper if one uses it to make their family. One doesn’t have to be *against* adoption to use assisted reproductive technology. I know many that build their families using both methods! Just my humble opinion on the topic, please be gentle. Haha.

I’m guessing she’ll have a c-section with the twins, as she did with Shiloh (due to her being breech) which means that she could potentially go earlier than her August 19th due date (which by the way is just a shot in the dark anyway).
I am so happy for them… they are a great family, and to see them so happy and fulfilled makes me happy.

A journalist on french tv just said that Angelina told him (on the steps in Cannes) that she was due in 10 days. In the interview they aired we only saw the part where he asked her to confirm the twins.

I think a lot of celebrities that have twins get help, they just don’t wanna say it. Marcia cross has been one of the few to admit it. I have a feeling jlo had help, so did julia roberts, nancy grace hasn’t wanted to talk about it, but she is older, so she did too. Marcia gay haden and geana davis also had twins. Also not everybody has to take the real strong fertility drugs, I know 2 people that got pregnant taking clomid and both had twins. It’s just too much of a concidence all the celebrities, are having twins lately. Shiloh is a beauty, so i’m sure these babies will be too. If shiloh gets attention from the media, I bet it will triple now with 3 bio jolie pitt kids.

If you all spent as much time focusing on your own kids as you do some celebritys there wouldn’t be half as many trailor trash tykes in the playgrounds.
Your views on her fertility are way past the line of respect. The little line added by the admin. of this site stating that you shouldn’t post anythng you wouldnt be happy saying to someones face should be read over and over again by some of you. It does not just apply to comments made between posters, it should also apply to comments made about the focus of an article. In this case, Angelina. Any one of you who says you would be just as happy asking Angelina about her fertility to her face as you are posting about it, is an out and out liar.

carolina, Yes, it is possible to have twins without a c-section, but according to a friend of mine who had triplets, most docs won’t do a VBAC with multiples. Even just twins. My friend wanted one, but had to have a c-section with her first.

It’s very possible that Angie didn’t understand Laurent Weil’s question and answered about the fact that she will come back in ten days for the Eastwood film! But that’s what he understood and stated live on french TV.

i may be being naive, but haven’t noticed any ‘negative’ comments on the assisted fertility front, only queries, speculation and statements of people’s experiences.
i for one was mentioning my aunt’s experience,and commented i did not think that just because it is twins she would necessarily have had treatment.(not a negative comment IMO)bugs me people assume they’ve had help,it DOES happen naturally, as with many multiples,especially twins.
again, this is not a negative.

It amazes me how words can get out of context so fast. First, I did not hear her say 10 days, so I cannot comment on that. But this morning it was a few months, not days, so why would that change. I think it was misinterpreted and the broadcaster probably meant 10 weeks. If she was due in ten days, she would not be there at all walking up and down those steps and she is going to do it again next week. She would not have been on a boat or shopping alone. This is an example of the internet spreading like wildfire before it can be confirmed. Language issues must be taken into consideration here. Since she is having twins, her size seems about right for 6-7 months. Again, why would she lie?

I believe her, that belly is not ready to pop 2 babies already. I hope she gives birth not earlier then 35 weeks in her pregnancy, the longer the babies are in mama’s belly the better !

I don’t really care how they conceived, but the rumors about fertility treatments have been around since last year. Some sources were reporting she was using fertility drugs to help her ovulate.
Regarding the due date, I’d be very impressed if she was still flying all over the world, pregnant with twins, with just a couple of weeks to go.

I had twins due in Sept., born in August last year. I’m small like she is and by the end was slightly larger than she is now- but it doesn’t make sense to assume she is due at the end of this month- twins rarely ever make it all the way to 40 weeks, and she certainly wouldn’t be jet setting around the world- although she could certainly do whatever she felt up to- she seems too smart to put her babies at that kind of risk. I think we should all just assume these are summer babies- maybe not as far off as august, but who knows. If that’s right, that’s wonderful! It means she is nourishing them appropriately instead of worrying someone on one of these boards will think she’s getting too fat!

REGARDING THE “QUOTE”–
Angelina Jolie did *not (Not! Not! Not!) say that “*unlike* most women, I like being pregnant”…she was asked a question about pregnancy and simply stated “UHHH…LIKE most women…” etc. Perhaps the journalist heard the “uhhhh…like” as “UNlike”, but she definitely did not say that. She expressed during her last pregnancy that on the one hand she feels a sense of guilt for possibly denying a child who needs to be adopted a prospective home, but on the other hand, she had never felt so at one or at peace with her body or the human condition and that she felt a special kinship with pregnant women everywhere because they too understood the overwhelming love and achievement you feel for your self and your body simply by virtue of “being” and nurturing life.
Regarding the fertility treatments…really, people. It’s enough that they share this beautiful family with all of us…even as I have to quash my own urge to say that she would not use fertility drugs with one still in diapers, if at ALL…I chastise myself for even thinking about it! Whether you agree with them or not, fertility treatments are a medical matter and we certainly wouldn’t be asking what brand of hemorrhoids cream she uses or how much she pees when she sneezes or any other pregnancy related “personal” stuff…so let’s mind our beeswax and happily wait on babies that are sure to be as beautiful and charismatic as their four siblings.

(and so far angelinas pregnancy rumors have been confirmed) and also due to alot of the celebrities having twins some have admitted to having fertility treatment. there is alot of negative misconceptions about fertility treatments and i think that is why people say NO so quickly that she didn’t have anything done. but she could of just taken clomid which is just a pill but also increases the chances of twins. remember she was very thin for awhile after shiloh and maybe that affected her body or her cycle. or maybe just having twins came naturally. no one knows one way or the other until she says otherwise. but just saying she didn’t have fertiltiy because she is only 33 or because she conceived so quickly with shiloh doesn’t mean she couldn’t have problems the second time. alot of woman struggle to get pregnant the second time after so easily conceiving the first time. or you have a woman like me…i was 29 and healthy and couldn’t conceive after trying for over a year and no one knew why so i did fertility-clomid and got pregnant after one month. the point of my rambling is that she could of conceived natually or she could have had help both are possiblities. i do think there is a negative assocation with a woman who does fertlity and i don’t know why. the end result is still the same, a beatiful baby or babies in this case!

i think i remember reading an interview where she mentioned how it happened so quickly with shiloh & it didnt happen as fast this time, so a part of me feels like maybe she had some assistance…esp now that she is having twins. it seems like there are an awful lot of “natural” twins occuring in hollywood.

This is an interesting discussion. There is absolutely nothing at all wrong with using whatever it takes to conceive a healthy child. The issue with this couple is that something like this is always going to be used “against” them by tabloids, though they don’t really care and having help is not an issue. The tabloids keep making up stories about gestational diabetes (which happens), but was not true or swollen ankles, or high blood pressure, etc. They keep making this pregnancy a “difficult” one and so far, it does not seem to be that way.
FYI, Angelina has never spoken about this pregnancy until now and in no detail, so any article that talks about difficulty conceiving is another “story” made up by a tabloid. As someone above said, it seems to be difficult for people to believe they got pregnant the old fashioned way..stop conctraception and have sex. (Twins happen naturally sometimes too.) Or that she is having a normal pregnancy, without “issues”.
Just wondering, did this type of discussion happen with other celebrity pregnancies or is this something else that is unique to them? If so, that is truly sad. Let’s just congratulate them and hope for healthy children.

If Aug 19th is her due date, she will probably have them around 36 weeks – so in late July. She is NOT due in 10 days!
Yes, twins can and are delivered w/o C-section. A friend of mine had 2 seven pound babies – wow! My aunt was pregnant with twins and didn’t even know until the second child was born. They were also #5 and #6 – and so far the same order/sex as the J-Pitts, come to think of it: boy, boy, girl, girl, boy/girl twins.

lol It seems people want to believe what they want to believe. Angelina has not talked about her pregnancy until now. She has not done any interviews where she talked about having difficulty getting pregnant or having morning sickness this 2nd time around and Zbella you have the quote 100% wrong. Watch and listen to the Today show interview. Angie is pretty clear.
I agree with those above who said some people don’t want to believe that Angelina and Brad have sex. I wonder if some of you lose sleep at the thought. Wow.

With regards to Janessa’s question about why Angelina won’t give birth in America, I think it all boils down to the matter of privacy.
The whole reason the world knew she was execting was because X17 paid a memeber of staff at her doctor’s surgery for the confidential information! How and why should anyone have to put up with that?
They deserve some peace and quiet, some privacy to enjoy this special time with their family. Unfortunately, they just cannot get that in the States. Remember the collective media anticpation when Shiloh was on the way? Now times it by 2.
I think it’s for that reason mainly (there might be others) that they choose to go abroard when preparing for the birth of their children. It’s also why I think sooner rather than later, they will move out of the States altogether.

I can’t really believe that Brangelinas twins happened “naturally”. So many twins have been born into the celebrity world (starting with Marcia Cross) so my guess is that Brangelina just wanted to be part of that twin-circle. Or so it seems. I have no idea whether or not they used fertility treatments, but the fact is that the rate of multiples in hollywood is much higher than in the general population, even among women over 35. I think the rate is something like 2% in the general population and that increases to about 2.3% for women over 35. If you use Clomid alone, that increases to about a 10 % chance of twins, and increases even more with stronger treatments. It would be naive to think that all of the twins in hollywood are happening naturally. I also completely understand their need for privacy, but I’ve noticed that if you bring up the topic of fertility on this site, any comment is perceived as negative. As a woman who had fertility treatment for two of my children, and adopted one, I happen to be interested those two topics and I love it when celebs talk about them, just like some of you are interested in the topics of breastfeeding or c-sections, etc. For me, speculating whether someone did or did not have fertility treatments is in no way a negative topic. In fact, I think the more we talk about it, the more people will be educated on infertility and the reality of of it. Anyway, I guess I have way too much time on my hands, as this is a very long post. Let me just add, that I absolutely love the Jolie-Pitt family and am very excited that they are adding to their family! And I’ll be just as excited when they adopt again!

I had 4 kids and then we wanted to try for number 5 after 15 weeks found out they were twins they tell me they are identical as they were both boys I had them vaginally and the second one was breech they were 7 lbs and 6lbs each. To many people get sections and this can affect breast feeding not to mention recovery time. Non identical or fraternal twins can be more common in white women who are giving birth over 35 who have had many children already-not the case-i think she has had fertility treatment of a sort and think people should admit it!! My twins are gorgeous but 6 kids as we have now with multiples is very very hard work

I totally agree with you Paula regarding your post. I do think the more we talk about fertility treatments the more people will understand it and not have a negative association with it. Not every person’s experience with fertility treatments is the same. And i do think this topic is not just because it is Brad & Angelina it is because there have been so many celebrity pregnanices over 35 and many more twins lately which just leads you to believe maybe they had help. Also just because you use clomid it doesn’t mean you don’t have sex. Clomid is one part and having sex is the other part to getting pregnant. That is how i get pregnant. And to Bradfan…i have never heard the rumors about them not having sex or people believing they don’t until this website. I sure do believe they do, i mean come on look at these two people, how could they not. they have so much sexual chemistry! i am not implying at all that if they had help getting pregnant they didn’t have sex. anyway, i really do like brad and angelina and wish them many more babies, any way they have them!

I just read on foxnews.com, that angelina supposedly confirmed that they are expecting FRATERNAL twin girls….saying that during an ultrasound they saw a line, which could mean that they are not identical twins… (i really have no idea what that means..)

As for the twins being fraternal because they are in different sacs, it’s not necessarily the case. Identical twins can either share the sac or have their own. If they are girls, then the only way to know is when they are born. Brad is definitely going to have his house full of girls!

If anyone has doubts that Angelina and Brad conceived natural, talk to you’re doctor.
Tell them: Doctor i have a 32 year old friend that had a baby a 1 year and a couple months ago — at her first try ! – and she just start trying (a month or 2 months, they probably start trying in Sept ) getting pregnant again but with no results. Can you help her? The doctor will tell you to tell your friend to keep trying and to come to a chek up with the husband. No doctor would recomend her any treatment just after a few months of trying.
Fertility treatments are not like taking an aspirin and they are only used to help the infertile woman get pregnant.

I think she looks like she is due in August. My build is similar to hers (well, not as toned, obviously!), and I looked about like that at 6 months with my twins.
And for all those saying that twins rarely go to term: 50% of twins are born before 37 weeks, and 50% after. It is absolutely possible to go to term. Mine were born at 40w3d!
I also agree she will likely have a section. It is extremely hard to find a provider to vbac twins. I’m thinking if she didn’t try for a vaginal birth with her breech, then she won’t this time.

She was interview by a Swedish reporter yesterday and he asked her to come to Sweden and deliver, so there would be a Swedish BAMPZS member, and she laughed and promised that they would come for their next biological child, if they decided to have one more. Neither Brad nor angelina have said whether they used IVF or not. That question has simply not been raised because most logical, rational people would assume that a 32 year old and a 44 year old man who managed to conceive Shiloh pretty quickly and who have just started to try to get pregnant a second time (because of (a) Angelina’s C section and (b) Pax’s adoption and (c) 2 demanding movies Wanted and Changeling), would not need assistance to conceive a second time.
Personally, I DON’T ACTUALLY CARE whether the twins were the result of IVF or NOT.
However, it seems to me, given the painful and intrusive procedures inflicted by IVF if Angelina did indeed subject herself to IVF BOTH SHE AND BRAD must really, really want the child/children. It is completely IMPOSSIBLE to have an accidental pregnancy if a couple chooses to do IVF. So, if Brad and Angelina did do IVF (which I’m pretty sure they DIDN’T), it just goes to show how committed they both are to having biological children or their own.
Can’t believe how so many on certain web sites are convinced Angie must have had IVF, just because they don’t want to believe the couple are actually having s e x.
Pretty dumb.

I agree Julie. Angie said she would take a year off after she finished shooting two films last year. If im not mistaken, her last film, changeling, finished filming either late nov or early dec. I suspected they would start trying for another bio baby at that time. It seems to me they hit the jackpot very quickly this time as well.
There is nothing wrong with having IVF, but I see no reason to assume Angie had this procedure(when woule she have had time to have it and what doctor would reccomend it without her having a fertility problem.
The tabs started this lie as well as angie having gestational diabetes, just to add drama.
Haters are for some reason wanting to believe this because they think it means angie and brad are in a loveless relationship..only together to have kids(as if they couldnt find anyone else willing to procreat with them, lol)

While I do believe there are Hollywood couples and non Hollywood out there that hide or lie about their IVF treatments because they want people to believe it happened naturally. I doubt Brad and Angie would go that route. Angie knows there are so many children that need homes why would she go to such great lengths just to have a biological one?

Not to sound negative, but people out there seem to forget that this same woman was the one who has taken on someone else’s husband. If God has his way, she will have twin daughters so that she can begin to be a good role mother to them from now on. It doesn’t matter how many children she brings into this world to show them off and make her happy alone, but how about Shilon, she deserve to have a mother who loves her unconditionally.. I am neither jealous at all because I am too beautiful, with three daughters and two sons whom God has blessed me with for being a good person doing all the right things. P.S. I don’t blame them for choosing to give birth outside the US for the sake of privacy. AJ is comfortable all over the world, and as pointed out by others, she needed to be at Cannes for work, so why not choose France? Plus, the whole family has been working on their French and is committed to learning the language – so it makes sense to stay for a few months, at least until the new additions are here.
I suppose you could do an amnio and find out if the babies are identical, but why take the chance? I would wait.
I didn’t know that so many twins were born on time. Most of the women I know had theirs early, but it’s nice to know that there is a good chance they will bake for a while yet!
AJ’s due date is a special day for me, so I wouldn’t mind a bit if they are born Aug 19th (which also happens to be Pres. Clinton’s birthday).

Identicals can be in separate sacs. My twins were in separate sacs. They couldn’t tell and we opted for a DNA test when the girls were a few months old.
