MamaBargains.com: A deal of the day just for parents and kids
There’s a new breed of shopping sites out there- sometimes referred to as "deal-a-day." For a limited time, they offer limited quantities of one product at great prices. Since Woot launched in 2004, tons of these sites have cropped up (others include Jellyfish Smack, SteepandCheap.com, RueLaLa.com), and there’s even a site dedicated to tracking all of the deals called DealSucker, but there’s now a deal-a-day site just for parents and kids under 10 called MamaBargains.com.
Here’s how it works: they offer one hot deal at a time until they run out, and then they offer another one. You are guaranteed to save 50-80% off of the retail price and are guaranteed to have the lowest price on that product anywhere. As I write this, they are offering Timi & Leslie’s Tag-a-Long diaper bag, normally $90 and going for $27. They offer several prints and you can watch as the little mom cartoon runs from "lots left!" to "all gone!" Most of the products are closeouts, out of season, overstock, but some are even brand new items that haven’t even been released yet.
In the last few days, they’ve had a number of Timi & Leslie diaper bags and Me In Mind footwear. Future brands they have on board include Elephantito, New Native, My Baby Nest, Dogwood clothing, Slinglings. They are working on getting more baby blankets, cloth diapers, wooden toys, but best of all, they take recommendations! If there’s something you’re looking to buy, you can request it and they’ll do their best to get it.
It’s so addicting because you can’t wait to find out what will be offered next. They are working on an alert tool to let you know when a new product is available. I know I can’t wait for that. One tip I have for them is to add an ability to post or link to reviews. This is a feature of Woot and enables others to learn more about the product. Since it’s available only a short time, you don’t have much time to research the item when buying it so it would be great if they linked to credible reviews on sites such as CBB and/or allowed other MamaBargain shoppers to add their feedback if they already own the product. Since the site literally launched this week, I guess I’ll cut them some slack and wait for that feature to roll out.

the steal a day concept is ok, but the sites where you can really get great stuff at incredibl savings are the sales sites like http://www.hautelook.com. I love those sites, just bought a Fendi Handbag – incredibe deal nowhere else to be had…yippieee!!!!

Well, if you looked, mamabargains has more than one deal a day, and the deals are pretty darn great. mamabargains seems more geared towards moms who are addicted to buying great stuff for their kids – I can’t stop hitting refresh!

I purchased a pair of Dogwood swim trunks and got them in the mail yesterday – they are awesome. . .I keep going back to look and unfortunately I can’t buy everything because I want to.

What a great idea for a web site. I just found out about it and have told everyone i know! I have a couple new nephews to shop for and I love all the things I have seen on the site so far! I cant wait for more and more deals! I have also had friends purchase some things off here as well. One purchased the diaper bag and she LOVES it!!! Im so excited to see what the future holds for the site!!! Great Job Mamas!!!!

I don’t get it Holly Marie. I’m reading that this site is new as of this week, then how on earth did your friend that purchased the diaper bag online already have it and LOVE it if it is website not a store? Hmmm….

i assure you Erika, as I am the owner, that Holly did receive her stuff, and so did her friend. They both purchased from Bellingham, Washington, one a baseball diaper bag, and Holly herself purchased Dogwood swimming trunks. It doesn’t take more than a day for them to realize how great our products are. I truly appreciate all the SUPER feedback from our customers – we are still in the process of adding our alert tool, that will come next week. Shipping really only takes two or three days by UPS. I love mamabargains.com!!! I have ordered a few things and have gotten them already as well. I got so many compliments on my diaper bag and my son’s sweatshirt yesterday! I love the site…I check it a few times a day to see what cute new product is available. I have seen babysteals.com and think that mamabargains.com offers much better quality and trendier products.

So far nothing I have seen on mamabargains applies to the stage of life we are in, but I have been sending people to the site for awesome stuff. I have a 6yr & 3 yr old, so I don’t need the baby stuff, but I think it has great prices.

Stay tuned – we have some cute clothing and shoes still to come from Elephantito that is for children ages 3 Months to 10 years old. Their clothing and shoes are made in Europe and the pieces we are getting are amazing! I don’t know if you have girls or boys, but also with Dogwood we will have clothing for 3T and 4T in the next week or so. Keep your eye out, Mamabargains.com is always adding products to the long list of already great products that we have been featuring. We buy based on customer need, so when we get a lot of requests for certain things, those are the products we seek out. Now that we have been getting a few more requests for the 3T to 6T age range, those are some of the things that we are looking for as well! we’re working on a feedback section…our programmer is out of town for two more weeks, and when he gets back, we’re putting him to work, and we have a lot of super cool upgrades to the site, so make sure to stay hooked! We will bring back the Tag-A-Longs in the next few days, as well as the Timi and Leslie backpacks, and probably what’s left of the Large ones we have in stock as well. We will be bringing you bedding, burp cloths, blankets and mini’s. A SUPER bedding and baby blanket company contacted us recently and we are very excited to launch their product in the next few days – the owner is great, and we love doing business with vendors who are fun, have integrity, and love hooking our mamas up with SUPER deals! I am quite disappointed. While I did get my diaper bag, it was the wrong style. On top of that it appeared to be used or was a display model or whatever. So far my queries have gone unanswered.

Please let me know who you are, we have no customers named katie on our books and every single diaper bag is brand new and in its original packaging directly from the vendor. We have also never received any correspondence from anyone named Katie, and as the owner, I respond to every single customer personally. Please contact us at this phone number 801.865.0516 as soon as possible so that we may resolve this issue, as if you are in fact one of our customers, we have integrity as business owners and would never want one of our customers to be unhappy.

We need to clarify – we did find one Katie T in our records, though her order has not been fulfilled yet, it is still in transit through UPS and has not yet arrived at it’s destination. This is the only Katie T we could find anywhere in any of our systems, and her order was just placed on June 5th, and just shipped yesterday, June 6th via UPS. We have two other customers with the first name Kate, so please clarify to us who you are so that we can help resolve this issue in a timely manner. In addition, we have searched through every record and every single email to any of our accounts and have never received any emails from anyone named Kate since the day of our launch, which was May 19th. Please clarify who you are by calling or emailing jessica@mamabargains.com as soon as possible. We do pride ourselves on making our customers happy, and as a customer, you are entitled to the same satisfaction as every other customer.

I have seen many comments about mamabargains.com on various web sites I have been on recently. Everyone is raving about the high quality of the products and customer service they are getting from the site. All of the products that I have ordered myself have arrived in sealed bags and are all brand new. I emailed the owner a few times with questions and she responded very quickly. I find it very hard to believe that she would not respond as soon as she could if she received an email from an unhappy customer. Personally, I would give a company a bit more time to respond before jumping on a Blog to write negative comments. It seems from Jessica’s responses, that she is quite willing to work the “issue” out and make sure each and every customer is satisfied. We all know there is another website out there that competes with mamabargains.com, and we know that they are located in Salt Lake City as well. Most of us also realize that the recent ‘plugs’ for that other site that have popped up on mamabargains.com review boards are a bit suspect and that the competition is most likely posting it themselves. There is more than enough room out there for two companies that have the same concept. At this point, mamabargains.com has done nothing other than earn the respect and loyalty of customers all over the country simply because they are good, honest people who seem to put their customers before anything else. I will not even look at the ‘other’ site again, and trust me, I used to. Bloggers and online shoppers are smart enough to see when someone is posting something to inflate their own business in a selfish, hurtful way on someone else’s super review site. Keep being honest mamabargains.com, you are what the consumers need! I’M SO ADDICTED TO MAMABARGAINS!

The Tagalongs have only two in stock…the camo one and also the butterfly, and there are only a few of each left! This helps us make room for all the other cool products we will be getting very soon! Im commenting to agree with Alexandra P. and give my own testament. I am not sure who the ‘other site’ is, but regardless, Jessica has been nothing but patient and professional with me. I called her twice about a shipping question and she answered me cheerfully and I cant wait to get my first product so I can come back here to say how awesome the stuff is!
And then I will be sure to order my second and third….
