   Wow! Could it be possible for a daughter to look any more like her mother?? They should do a movie on Bette’s life and Sophie could play the young Bette!

   I love Sophie’s middle name (Alohilani)! I assume “aloha” (peace) is the 1st part of it, but can anyone help me with the meaning of “ilani”?? I know Bette was born and raised in Hawaii; and is so grateful and proud to be from there.

   I remember when Soph was born. It’s amazing to see what a beautiful young woman she’s become. They look like twins!

   As an “older” mom, I love seeing pictures of Bette and her daughter because if you do the math Bette was 41 when her daughter was born. And here they are 21 years later both looking great and enjoying each other! I hear so many comments intended to be negative like “oh, you’ll be in your 60s when they are in college.” Yes, I will, and looking at Bette makes me look forward to it!

    Sarah, ‘alohi means bright, sparkly, brilliant, to shine. lani is the heavens. together, it means a bright, sparkly sky; most often describing the sky at dawn, when the sun is rising and making the sky shine and the water glittery.

    Sophie is really coming into her own and turning into a very pretty young lady. She looks so much more grown-up from the last picture I saw awhile back. She and Bette look very close… she certainly is the apple of her mother’s eye!

    i am 12 years of age and i LOVE bette midler
    she is my hero. when i saw this pic i screamd
    of joy. peolpe at my age mit not know bette midler but i do and i do speech’s on her all the time for school. my friends think i am CRAZY about this woman but i say i am not but i am really shhh.bette and sophie like
    so much alike it’s not funny at all i hape sophie grows up to be just like her mum.
