Kelly Ripa wants to be on her kids’ schedule
A few years ago actress and co-host Kelly Ripa, 37, had a lot on her plate to juggle. Not only did she have her talk show responsibilities with Live with Regis and Kelly alongside Regis Philbin, she also played Faith Fairfield in the sitcom Hope and Faith, and was a mother to three young kids with her husband, Mark Consuelos, 37. Now, with her sitcom having wrapped in 2006, Kelly is enjoying the advantages of her hosting schedule — which she tapes in the morning — and dedicating more of her time to her kids Michael Joseph, who will be 11 on June 2, Lola Grace, who will be 7 on June 16, and Joaquin Antonio, 5.
My job is not very time consuming — at all. I really am scheduled to pick up the kids from school every day. It used to be very difficult because I had the sitcom and the talk show. It required a lot of patience from my children; it required them to come to me a lot. I like it much better now because I don’t think my kids should be on my schedule. I feel like I should be more on their schedule.

She is a great mom regardless i think whether she has 2 or 10 jobs.I can tell she’s very hands on with them.I’m sure she is elated to have more time with them.Thats just something you can’t have again cause they grow up.

“I don’t think my kids should be on my schedule. I feel like I should be more on their schedule.”
Very well put!
Too bad more people don’t think that way.

Well she really didn’t have a choice, her sitcom was canceled, had it not been I’m sure she would have continued to do both jobs. She has said in the past she loved her sitcom job, and was sad when it got canceled. So it wasn’t like she decided one job was enough for her and left the job, she had no choice when the show got canceled. She is working on other jobs with TLC though, so live won’t be her only job for long

I completely agree with you Henrietta. Good for Kelly for parenting that way.

She’s seems to have the perfect schedule for a working mom; work in the morning and spend the rest of the day with her children.

Kelly seems like a devoted mom. She really has her hands full but always seems so put together.

She was lucky that she could eventually shift to “their” schedule… many, many people do not have that advantage.
