Update: Entertainment Tonight duped by imposter in reporting on Jolie-Pitt twins?
Update: The source relied on by Entertainment Tonight in its erroneous reporting last week that the Jolie-Pitt twins had arrived could be someone masquerading as Angelina Jolie’s assistant and friend Holly Goline. Jossip said yesterday that an impostor has been using a fake BlackBerry email address to send members of the media false information about Angelina and partner Brad Pitt.
No laughing matter, Angelina’s lawyers have gone so far as to circulate a letter to various entertainment news outlets explaining the situation. The law firm Lavely & Singer stated in their letter,
A random individual has engaged in a scheme to intentionally harm my client and deceive her fans, the public and the media through illegal and tortuous impersonation of Ms Jolie’s long-time assistant, Holly. The individual who claims to be, and to whom the media has relied upon as, a ‘reliable source’ is not my client’s assistant, nor does the email address belong to my client’s assistant.

Update: In a PEOPLE Exclusive, Angelina Jolie confirms that the rumors of her giving birth to her twins are NOT true. "Angelina has not given birth. She is fine, enjoying her home and her family in France," a rep for the actress tells PEOPLE. The rumor started surfacing on Tuesday, but was officially denied today.

Originally posted at 12:04 p.m.: Entertainment Tonight is reporting that it has confirmed the birth of the twins for actors Angelina Jolie, 32, and Brad Pitt, 44; No additional details about the babies births are provided, no sources are quoted and there is thus far no word from their reps. Angelina officially unveiled her bump at the Independent Spirit Awards in February, and confirmed that they were expecting twins earlier this month.
If true, the twins are the fifth and sixth children for the Jolie-Pitts, who are already parents to Maddox Chivan, 6 ½, Pax Thien, 4 ½, Zahara Marley, 3 ½, and Shiloh Nouvel, 2.

Wow. I’m surprised just because the pregnancy went so long without being confirmed that it seems like it’s been so short, but in the last sets of pictures she’s looked pretty far gone. I can’t imagine ET would say this if it weren’t true, so it looks like we’ll know something soon!

WOW! I certainly did not believe this “rumor” to be true, but if so, my goodness, so close to big sis Shiloh’s b-day. Hopefully the babes were close to full-term and not overly premature, although premature infants can thrive much better now-a-days. My firstborn was born 2.5 months premature and he is a thriving and very healthy 6-yr. old now. Can’t wait to hear more details on this one.

what I don’t get it how i think we already know she’s due in aigust, plus since she’s having twins she doesn’t look full-term at all. For twins, I think she looks 6-7 months. I don’t know why they keep doing the “she gave birth” rumor if it’s kind of obvious she’s not due yet. plus I also remember that they released a statement when they had Shiloh- it was on people.com within hours. so I’m assuming we’ll know when they tell us.

Now after going to the site I doubly don’t believe this. They are claiming Angelina named her daugthers Isla and Amelie, just like the other rumor. I suppose it’s possible that those are the names, but I think it’s just a repeat of an old rumor.

i’d be inclined to believe this one. ET seems like they wait until their info is solid before running a story. Add to that the preg timeline…Jack Black gave an Aug 19 due date- i imagine that he intentionally gave a later date to help draw away the massive pap. swarm…i’m guessing she was due in early-mid July, and when you factor in that twins tend to arrive early- a Memorial day birth seems likely.

I think they just picked up the rumor off that dubious blog, since they list their names as Isla and Amelie, too.
While very pretty, those just aren’t Angie’s style at all. I would almost be disappointed if she chose relatively normal names like that, haha.

Nina: only if she flew a commercial airline. They have a rule that says no flying after 7 months of pregnancy. However, my guess is Angie, Brad, & the kids took a private plane. In that case, there are no rules. If she was that close to delivering (which I doubt) she could have just paid to have a doctor come with them in case she went into labor in the air.

I’m inclined to believe that she has had the twins and they are sending out “not true” reports, (1) because they want privacy or (2) the babies are quite premature and they are waiting on news of their health status before confirming. I want to see a very recent pic. or a public appearance of a still pregnant Angelina to make me believe otherwise… My 2 cents.

Did Angelina talk to People exclusively because that does not sound like something she would do? She usually keeps these things private and waits for the rumors to fiddle out. Reps are not always reliable because they are protecting their client and their privacy.
I don’t know if it is true or not and I won’t believe it until Angelina her self releases a statement, or weeks go by and there is no proof of a baby. People, Eonline, and ET, have all gotten stories wrong so while they are correct 90% of the time, they all need to be taken with a grain of salt.

Just curious…when a woman is pregnant with twins, do they more closely monitor the babies? Angelina just seems so small to me for being with twins, I HIGHLY doubt she delivered. I believe her due date has to be July, at the earliest.

This is getting crazier and crazier. The six o’clock news actually reported this rumor. If they are acting like this over an unsubstantiated rumor, what are they going to do when she really gives birth?
I can picture it now: “We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming to bring you this important announcement…”

Remember JLO’s rep denied reports that she was expecting to protect her privacy. These people work for their clients they don’t have to tell the truth just to please the public.

It’s one thing to make up a story with a fake source but to stand by it when Angelina’s rep says it’s not true is just silly. Admit when you’re wrong and at least save yourself an iota of credibility, no matter how small it is.
It’s sad that the so-called reliable press organisations were all reporting this as true without even bothering to do any research.

ET finally took the story off their website. I’m actually glad it is false because this was Shiloh’s birthday weekend. I know I would hate it if my birthday was so close to my siblings.
Judy, I don’t think Brad and Angie even pay attention to this stuff. I highly doubt they google search their names just to see what the media is saying about them today.

LolaCola, they wouldn’t have to google it; it’s all over the media right in their faces. They’d have to be blind not to see it. But Angelina said in an interview that Brad has a great sense of humor, and he’s probably laughing his head off over this flap.
Amanda, EOnline will be wiping the egg off their faces for days, but it could have been worse. At least they didn’t do like Star Magazine did when they offered the parish priest in New Orleans $3,000 to back up their fake story about the Wedding That Wasn’t. I’ll give EOnline their props for admitting their mistake.

Judy it was ET not E!. E! verified the rumors to be false too.
They don’t seem like the type of celebs that pay attention to the media, whether it be television, the internet or magazines. However, Angie did say in an interview that unless it is coming from the NY Times they just shrug it off and don’t bother to comment on it, so maybe if it is all over the place they will here about it from a friend or manager.
I also read somewhere that Angie does not have a publicist only Brad does. She said she does not want anyone speaking for her, if she has anything to say she will say it herself. I like that about her it shows that she is not trying to maintain an “image”. So who is this person speaking for her, maybe it is Brad’s rep.

Lola, yes it was Brad’s rep who denied the reports. The CBB headline does make it seem like she talked to People herself. I agree with the Shiloh comment, she needs her own day. I think she is due in Aug but will likely deliver early since most women carrying twins do. So I am guessing a July delivery.

If this is just a rumor, why doesn’t Angelina just appear in public and prove it to be false? Has anyone seen a pic of her since the announcement? Pictures are more powerful than words. Instead of having publicists deny the claims, just take a walk with your children and that rumor will die down. I personally think she has had the baby/babies. For some reason, I think she’s not being truthful about having twins and possibly just said that to throw everybody off about the time in her quest for privacy during the delivery. Either way, I am positive the baby/babies will be adorable, just like little Shiloh.

LolaCola, I thought the same thing about close birthdays growing up because my sister was born one week before my 1st birthday. But it really depends on how the parents handle it. Mine just had one cake and we often got presents that we had to share, like a game or a puzzle. That is really hard to do when you are 3 or 4 years old.
My second child was born two weeks before my first’s fourth birthday. While we only have one party, it really is more like two because they each get their own cake, their own decorations and they open presents at different times. We have the party on the weekend inbetween and they each get a special treat on their actual birthday. This may change when they are older, but for the last four years it has worked out fine.

Angelina Jolie does not need to make an appearance for anyone’s sake. This is about an entertainment site too proud to admit they made a mistake. It is not Angelina’s responsibility to do any such thing to fix it. As she said in her interviews, they don’t live their lives to suit tabloids or their silly accusations.

Angelina is most definitely pregnant because a) her rep and other sources have confirmed she is fine at home, still pregnant and b) if she had had the babies- she probably would have done a magazine shoot like she did with Shiloh when she was a newborn and c) She is too small now to have twins, and they are due in August.
Anyhow, I wish her a happy, and healthy pregnancy- hope everything goes well and I look forward to seeing her twins

Poor Holly Goline…that must feel really violating to have someone assume your identity like that.I hope they find the person who did this, not so much because lying to the world that Angelina had her twins is such a crime, but because their assistant, Holly, has probably been going nuts trying to figure it out and I bet it has caused her a lot of problems.
