Bobux iWalk: Flexible shoes, healthy bodies

Bobuxsport We’re all well versed by now in the virtues of soft-soled shoes for babies and new walkers.  Podiatrists agree that a flexible shoe helps create a solid foundation for bone and muscle formation throughout the body, and thus the benefits of a soft-soled shoe extend far beyond the foot itself.  But it only stands to reason that the benefits of such a shoe would continue well into toddlerhood.  That’s why Bobux — which has been making soft-soled infant shoes since 1991 — recently launched its new iWalk product line of super-flexible outdoor shoes for toddlers.  Available in sizes 3-8 and in a variety of boy and girl styles, iWalk is just what the doctor ordered.

We recently tested two of the new iWalk styles and — as advertised — they are incredibly flexible.  The vulcanized (weatherproof) rubber sole is so flexible, in fact, that you literally can bend the shoe in two.  Each pair of iWalks is constructed with an upper consisting of breathable eco-leather — an environmentally friendly, biodegradable nappa leather that is incredibly soft and even safe for your little one to chew on, if they’re so inclined.

Bobuxtbar The iWalk Sport in sage ($52; shown at intro of review) is a great sneaker.  It is an easy on/off shoe, secured soundly with two velcro straps.  The lining is supple and the cushioned insoles are nice and thick.  This particular style comes in a variety of colors in addition to sage, including raspberry, navy and beige.  We also tested the iWalk T-Bar in navy ($46; shown at right).  It is a nice unisex t-strap style of shoe, and the navy leather and star decal make this a great choice for summer.  Perfect for the 4th of July!

With iWalk, you get the benefit of a company with nearly two decades of experience crafting soft-soled shoes, who’ve taken all that experience and applied it to a toddler shoe.  You can send your little one outside to play knowing that their feet are being well cared for, and that their shoes are up to the challenge at hand.
