Jessica Alba and Cash Warren welcome daughter Honor Marie
Actress Jessica Alba, 27, and her husband, producer Cash Warren, 29, have welcomed their first child, a daughter. Honor Marie Warren arrived on Saturday, June 7th at 10:07 p.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. Additional birth details were not released.
The pregnancy was announced in December, with Jessica confirming the sex in early May. In April, rumors had surfaced that the baby’s name would be Honor.

Congrats! So the rumors of Honor were right! Can’t wait to see her.
June 9th, 2008 at 5:55 am
I have to say, I’m kind of shocked to see that her name IS Honor after that article Jessica did shortly when the rumors surfaced where she said that they had NOT chosen a name and were still trying to decide what to name her. She must’ve been trying to throw people off!
Congrats to Jessica and Cash and welcome Honor!
June 9th, 2008 at 5:56 am
Honor Cash? I don’t really like that – I’ve never liked Honor as a name, though. Congrats to them anyway, I thought she must have had the baby when she disappeared for a few days.
June 9th, 2008 at 5:59 am
Congrats to Jessica and Cash. I like the name Honor and isn’t Marie Jessica’s middle name?
June 9th, 2008 at 6:04 am
I’m so glad they went with Honor. I really like it and I think its fitting for her parents. Honor Marie is a cute combo.
June 9th, 2008 at 6:16 am
Although I’m not a big fan of hers, I love that name! It’s just the right combination of quirky and classy.
June 9th, 2008 at 6:27 am
Interesting name. Not sure if I like it or not. But happy to hear everything went well, and mum and bub are alright!
June 9th, 2008 at 6:40 am
Congrats to Jessica and Cash. I love the middle name marie, as its my middle name. I am not sure about Honor, its a strange name.
June 9th, 2008 at 7:07 am
Congrats to the new parents!
I also think that Marie is beautiful and Honor is cute too, but I think that Honor Marie Warren is a mouthful. I think it’s because there are too many r’s in the name, but I’m not sure, I don’t really know what it is but I have a little bit of difficulty to pronounce it. Am I the only one?
Maybe it’s because my first language is French?
June 9th, 2008 at 7:09 am
I love that Jessica gave her daughter the same middle name as she has – my mother did the same and it’s a lovely kind of connection. Well, I think so.
June 9th, 2008 at 7:09 am
I’m wondering how they pronounce it, b/c I pronounce it “ah-noor” which I think is pretty. I hope they don’t pronounce it like the Engish word “on-er”.
June 9th, 2008 at 7:11 am
Congratulations to Jessica and Cash
I’m personally not too surprised they did pick the name Honor. After all, Jessica did say in Gotham magazine, a few months ago that “[Cash] has an interesting name, so we’ll see. I think our kid is going to have an interesting name.”
June 9th, 2008 at 7:19 am
I love traditional names, I’m not really into this quirky name nonsense all the celebs seem to be so fond of but I really like her name. Honor Marie is beautiful, she was smart to pair a unique name with a simple more traditional one. Congrats to them!
June 9th, 2008 at 7:19 am
I am glad baby and mum are healthy, was not expecting that name at all.
Must admit I prefare not to know the sex of a baby and knowing the name beforehand just takes away that added surprise.
I am sure Jessica was annoyed when the name was made public, I never believed it was the correct name for one second.
June 9th, 2008 at 7:22 am
Congrats to the couple. I love the name.
June 9th, 2008 at 7:25 am
Mmm, don’t like the name at all but that’s their choice.
I didn’t know anything about Jessica Alba, I still don’t really but things I’ve read about her lately (not here) tend to be very negative. I’m not sure why. She’s not really talked about over here.
Congrats to the new parents though, it’s a very special time!!!
June 9th, 2008 at 7:40 am
not a fan of the name at all, but i bet baby Alba/Warren is beautiful! Congrats!!
June 9th, 2008 at 7:41 am
Just in time for Father’s day. I hope that we can see pics of this little one sooner than later. But, if she does go the Halle Berry route of complete baby picture black-out, who could blame her?
June 9th, 2008 at 7:45 am
Congratulations Jessica And Cash.
Welcome Baby Honor!
June 9th, 2008 at 7:50 am
Congratulations to them! I’m sure this little girl is one stunning beauty! Happy Father’s Day Cash!
June 9th, 2008 at 8:04 am
Nicole, actually is Honor Warren and not Cash as you said. Cash is the name of her dad.
I like the name and i don´t think it´s extravagant at all.
I would also congratulates the happy couple for their beautiful addition.
June 9th, 2008 at 8:34 am
Congratulations to them both! How fabulous
June 9th, 2008 at 8:38 am
Congrats to her and Cash! The name is an interesting one, I must say!
June 9th, 2008 at 8:42 am
Nicole, the baby’s name is not “Honor Cash,” it is “Honor Warren.”
Just to clarify.
June 9th, 2008 at 8:53 am
I love the name Honor!! I’m so glad she went with it! Congratuations to Jessica and Cash!
June 9th, 2008 at 8:56 am
I like the name. Heather, where are you from? I’d be interested to know where it’s pronounced “ah-noor.” I think it’s nice pronounced either way.
June 9th, 2008 at 9:07 am
Nicole, Cash is the fathers first name it would actually be Honor Warren. I dont care for the name at all.Reminds me of the Boy Scout pledge.
June 9th, 2008 at 9:08 am
Nicole-Her name isn’t Honor Cash. Her name is Honor Warren.
June 9th, 2008 at 9:10 am
Congrats to Jessica & Warren. I can’t wait to see pictures of Honor, I’m sure she’s gorgeous!
June 9th, 2008 at 9:19 am
I actually like that name. Glad she chose something unique. Hope we get to see the baby soon!! Congrats to both of them.
June 9th, 2008 at 9:19 am
Honor Marie..is not that bad I think, I have heard some intersting names and this one is kinda of sweet!
Congratulations to Jessica and Cash!!
If Marie is Jessica’s middle name that is so cute she gave it to her daughter too! My mom, my daughter and I have the same middle name, is cute I think and I do feel like we have a special conection
June 9th, 2008 at 9:20 am
Congrats to Jessica & Cash! That’s so great that she’s here safe and healthy by Father’s Day! Welcome, baby Honor. =)
June 9th, 2008 at 9:21 am
I’m surprised that everyone thinks ‘Honor’ is such an odd name! There are many people that I know whos name is Honor, young and old. I think it’s such a pretty name!
Congrats to them!
June 9th, 2008 at 10:06 am
Why is Honor thought to be an odd name?? It was a common name amongst the Puritans and there’s several Patron Saints with the name. So I don’t find it odd at all. Honor is a lovely name and matche with the middle name of Marie.
June 9th, 2008 at 10:10 am
im so happy its a girl i thought it was gonna be a boy before her confirmation came up that she indeed was having a girl before she adressed it like a boy but im happy for her
June 9th, 2008 at 10:13 am
I don’t understand why people are so negative about the baby’s name, it’s THEIR choice, not ours!
There is more judgement than congratulations !
So Congrats to Jessica and Cash !
June 9th, 2008 at 10:15 am
Congratulations for the new parent. I hope that little Honor Marie is healthy and that mommy is resting.
June 9th, 2008 at 10:20 am
I really, really, really like the name! I just don’t know how much I like SUCH a common middle name with such a beautiful first name. But if there’s the mother-daughter connection, then I get it.
It’s beautiful. I love it! Congrats to Jessica and Cash.
June 9th, 2008 at 10:26 am
I really like Honor Warren!! Honor Marie Warren! When I was pregnant with my son, my ex-boyfriend and I were planning to name her Marie if it was a girl!
Anyway, Congratulations to Jessica and Cash on the birth of their baby Honor- I bet she will be beautiful!
June 9th, 2008 at 10:33 am
Um, geez does this mean that Star magazine was also right about the Jolie-Pitt babies both being girls? You know everything is not right with the world when Star Magazine starts being correct.
But congrats to the new parents, I bet she’ll be pretty!
June 9th, 2008 at 10:57 am
Not a cute name at all in my opnion. Can’t say I’m surprised though, that was the rumor and lately more and more tabolids are proving to be right, from saying jlo was having twins and naming them max and emme, angelina they said were trying last year to get pregnant, and surprise she is with twins just like they also said, same went with ashlee simpson being pregnant and a lot of other celebrity things this year.
June 9th, 2008 at 11:03 am
Congratulations ! I coudln’t wait for this little girl to be born and can’t wait to see her. Jessica was so beautiful during her pregnancy
June 9th, 2008 at 11:12 am
I don’t mind the name so much, I might have spelled it like, Honour, as to encourage a different pronunciation…….I fear for her in her High School days. I can just hear the boys now….eeek. Congrats to them, just the same!
June 9th, 2008 at 11:13 am
Congrats to Jessica and Cash!
I’m incredibly surprised that they ended up using Honor (an incredibly beautiful name, by the way). I expected something entirely different.
June 9th, 2008 at 11:18 am
I also don’t understand why people are so judgemental about her name choice. I’m sure not everyone here would love the names our parents gave us!
I’m so happy for her, and I can’t wait to see this little girl, I’m sure she will be beautiful!
I’m also interested to hear her birthstory, I had heard she was trying for a natural birth.
June 9th, 2008 at 11:30 am
Congratulations! So much fun meeting your new little one!
As far as commenting on names — it’s fine! Relax. As I found out when I had my son, people are always going to have an opinion about the name no matter what it is. And people WILL tell you to your face, so this is fair game. I had a lot of people who hated my son’s name and they all told me
But it was ok because to each their own. Personally, not a fan of “trait” names…Destiny, Hope, Faith, etc. But she’s not my baby
Hope everyone is healthy!
June 9th, 2008 at 12:19 pm
I Love the name…It just flows well.
June 9th, 2008 at 12:48 pm
I’m all for parents naming their babies whatever THEY like….not what WE think is appropriate.
That said, Celebrity-Babies site moderator, can you please clarify the pronunciation? I’m assuming it’s pronounced just like the noun “honor” (AWN-er) but I’m a little suspicious with Jessica’s Latina background that she will pronounce it “oh-NOR”….can you clarify for us? Thanks so much and thanks for the news.
June 9th, 2008 at 12:58 pm
Not a fan of the name Honor at all, but I love Marie!!!! Congrats to Jess and Cash.
June 9th, 2008 at 1:16 pm
Susan, Jessica doesn’t speak Spanish, neither does anyone else in her or Cash’s family, so I would assume that they pronounce it just like it’s said in English.
I love the flow of Honor Marie Warren, it sounds so…impressive. I’m not really a fan of the virtue names, but Honor is probably the best one out there. Better than Temperance or Chastity lol. I am kinda shocked thought that she actually named her Honor, because I remember that report that said she hadn’t even picked out a name yet. I guess she was just peeved that it got out, and tried to throw off the press.
Congrats and I can’t wait to see the little one =]
June 9th, 2008 at 1:41 pm
Thank you, Luisa, for clarifying. I didn’t know that Jessica doesn’t speak Spanish. I guess if I watch one of the entertainment news shows tonight I’ll hear the pronunciation for sure, but it sounds like you’ve got it right.
June 9th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
what an adorable little name!!! can’t wait to see the photos of little honor.
June 9th, 2008 at 1:59 pm
Congrats! She’s my fave celeb mama! I can’t wait to see pics, I love the name too! So happy for Jess & Cash!
June 9th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
Forgot to add- I think Honor Warren has a nice, smooth ring to it too!
June 9th, 2008 at 2:18 pm
Congratulations to Jessica and Cash. Honor Marie sounds beautiful. I can’t wait to see her. She’s bound to be a beautiful little girl.
June 9th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
I’m glad that Honor turned out to be her name – love it and was hoping it was true! All around, her full name is wonderful! I had a feeling Jessica and Cash would not choose anything too “out there,” like Pilot, Banjo, Moses or Apple. LMAO =P
Anyway, someone here was wondering if she would pronounce the name “Ah-noor”… I highly doubt it. I for one have never heard Honor pronounced any other way than “On-er.” =/
June 9th, 2008 at 2:28 pm
Gin – What’s wrong with saying you don’t like the name. Everyone has an opinion about names, regardless of the parents. I don’t see the problem with expressing your opinion as long as someone isn’t trying to start a row about it.
As far as I can see nobody’s having a go at Jessica and Cash. *shrug* I’m happy for them, a new baby is a wonderful thing.
June 9th, 2008 at 2:59 pm
i absolutely loooove the name honor! very classy. reminds me of honor blackman (the avengers)
June 9th, 2008 at 3:18 pm
So, Honor really was the name they’d chosen? Actually, I don’t mind the baby’s name. Honor Marie Warren flows nicely.
Congrats to Cash and Jessica on their baby girl!
June 9th, 2008 at 3:25 pm
Congrats to Jessica and Cash! I’m sure she’s a beautiful little blessing!
Oh how I LOVE her name! Honor Marie Warren has such an air dignity and grace to me! I’m one who abhors classical names for first names just because I’m not a fan of conforming to please the masses’ label of “normal” monikers. Nothing kills me more than 5 Johns, Jacobs, Camerons, Michaels, and Jennifers in one class. I’m not a fan of the overtly wild names either, avoiding trauma via nonsensical names is a good thing, but a little character and distinction goes a long way. Jessica and Cash certainly found a beautiful balance! Honor Marie is now right under Harlow Winter Kate for me in favorite celeb baby names!
June 9th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
I should clarify that I’m not critizing parents who like classical names for any reason, *I* just would rather avoid them. I do realize many times it’s to honor a family member or tradition, which, even though I have issues with that as well, I completely and totally respect. To each his own!
June 9th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
Congrats to Jessica and Cash with the arrival of their little girl Honor Marie. I’m not to found on the name though. But I hope they are doing great.
June 9th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
So, Honor got a super special birthday?
6-7-08
How cool is that?!?
Blessings Honor Marie
June 9th, 2008 at 5:12 pm
I’m from the USA but have a French background. Honora is a a French name I’ve seen pronounced “ah-noor-ah” so to me its natural to pronounce the name “ah-noor”. The other way seems harsh to me.
June 9th, 2008 at 5:40 pm
Congratulations to Jessica and Warren! I love the name Honor and Marie is my middle name also hehe.
June 9th, 2008 at 5:42 pm
ONE WORD TO SAY
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEE!
Congrats to Jessica and Cash on your girl
June 9th, 2008 at 6:30 pm
Congrats to the happy couple. In regards to her name I think its beautiful. I just finished reading a new book called What Matters Most and there was a character in there called Honor..thought it was very unique and now Jessica and Cash have decided to go that route too.
June 9th, 2008 at 6:56 pm
Just another ploy from a celebrity to get some attention put onto them. Like normal people, celebrities give their children stupid names just to get attention.
June 9th, 2008 at 6:59 pm
yay! i was so hoping she would name her Honor. i love it and im happy for them
June 9th, 2008 at 7:11 pm
I am so happy they went with Honor!! Love that name!!
June 9th, 2008 at 7:35 pm
Congrats to Jessica & Cash! Honor is a beautiful & unique name.
I hope she shares pics of their little princess so we can see her.
June 9th, 2008 at 7:46 pm
Well, if Jessica was being elusive about the name of her daughter, perhaps she was also doing so in regards to her statement that she hadn’t had any offers for baby photos! I, for one, hope so! I can’t wait to see some pictures of their little one!
June 9th, 2008 at 8:11 pm
Heather, I was thinking the EXACT same thing regarding the baby photos. I just didn’t want to say anything for fear of being flamed =/. It just seems strange that she wouldn’t get any offers, because usually when two attractive people get together and have a child, people are going to be interested lol. Does anyone else think this? Or are Heather and I just being conspiracy theorists? lol
June 9th, 2008 at 8:53 pm
Congrats to Jessica and Cash on the birth of Honor Marie! I like the name, it’s not traditional but not overly quirky either. It’s very nice.
June 9th, 2008 at 9:11 pm
Wow, I’m stunned at how many people “didn’t love” the old-fashioned name “Honor”, but are gushing about Tori Spelling’s “Stella”. Given that so many celebs give their kids completely ridiculous, made-up names (guaranteed to get the kid picked on, except when they hang out with other celeb kids), “Honor” is a welcome departure-a beautiful name!
June 9th, 2008 at 9:29 pm
Awwww congrats to Jessica, Cash, and the entire Alba-Warren family!!! Finally the baby came, and to top it off the name Honor Marie is very cute!!!!!
June 9th, 2008 at 11:07 pm
Heather, Luisa, I just read that she has actually been approached recently to pose for the summer but her rep pretty much said that the couple aren’t interested and have not been. Who knows what will happen though. I’m sure the baby is beautiful.
Other than the pictures I’m interested in hearing about the birth since she was trying hypnobirth. Thats what I’m hoping to try when that time comes.
June 10th, 2008 at 3:15 am
I don’t see what the big deal is ….. Honor isn’t that unusual. I personally like unusual names – or should I say not popular everyday common names. And I too am interested in her birth story. And just for the record I’m not that big on Stella, so no not everyone is a fan of Tori’s new daughter’s name.
June 10th, 2008 at 11:15 pm
I like the sound of her name. It just rolls off the tongue so easily and sounds classic to me.
Easy to remember!
I also love her birthdate: 6/7/8
June 11th, 2008 at 7:53 am
Get that baby some new cloths @ http://www.charitybuyz.com!! Its for a good cause!!!
June 11th, 2008 at 11:58 am
Medically unnecessary C sections are a worrying maternal trend in many regards.
Firstly, babies that are not born naturally miss out on the benefits this gives them (hormone release in them and mother through vag. delivery, squeezing through the birth canal pushes fluid from their lungs…etc). Secondly, women are dis-empowered by some of the unnecessary maternal interventions.
Thirdly, I acknowledge (although I have never had a c section) how traumatic this surgery is for a woman–considering for many, this isn’t even necessary, this is just a gross irresponsibility of the medical field to carry out such procedures for the ‘hell of it’ and just b/c their patient requested it.
June 12th, 2008 at 9:58 am
I KNOW HER BABY IS CUTE
June 14th, 2008 at 1:52 pm
Ive just been on one of her fansites and seen a picture of Jessica heavily pregnant swearing at the camera. i can understand that she is stressed but is it really nessisary as she is a role model to little children and if she didnt want the attention maybe she shouldnt have gone into acting!
June 15th, 2008 at 5:04 pm
Great name! So UNIQUE and elegant…really flows nicely! Love it! I just named my daughter Summer Victoria and got ALOT of heat from quite a few people about it. I can relate to having a different name and something thst some people may be like..”huh”? I think it’s a gorgeous name she has chosen and they should really be celebrated for deciding on something that is totally different. I love it! Honor really has meaning to them obviously and that should be celebrated bg time! yayy!
June 15th, 2008 at 8:28 pm
Wait, did she have a c-section? If so…who cares! I had to have one and to be honest…I had pain for about 7 days or so and did not even need heavy pain killers. I am and have been fine for 3 weeks now. I think that it is someone’s personal choice to decide if they would like a c-section as well. To each their own ya know? Also, there are always medical issues which sometimes you have to have one. I think nomatter how the baby comes out…it does not matter. The truth is..you have your healthy baby in your arms.
June 18th, 2008 at 9:33 pm
that great im happy for the both of them congrats
June 18th, 2008 at 9:38 pm
hi jessica and warren congrats on your angel baby girl i was wondering when you where gonna have your baby may all your dreams come true
