"My baby self weaned despite me trying to keep up the nursing! I find it so refreshing to hear Gwen talk about how hard she works to lose weight and keep herself in top shape. She looks great and has a beautiful family."

Liv Tyler on choosing to be a mom and good friend Gwyn

Liv_tyler_052508_f01_cbbWhen Liv Tyler gave birth to her first child in 2004, she dropped off the radar for quite awhile — and it was by choice, she says. The 30-year-old actress told Entertainment Weekly that although her path veered away from Hollywood, her decision led to a close relationship with 3 ½-year-old son Milo William and a renewed vigor for work.

I had a child because I wanted to be a mother and not because I wanted an accessory. I really wanted to take that time off, and I did. Now I’ve never wanted to work more in my entire life.

Now back in the game (with the help of a nanny), Liv has two films — The Strangers and The Incredible Hulk — in theaters this month. Cheering her on from the sidelines is actress Gwyneth Paltrow, a good friend who also took the same period of time off after the birth of daughter Apple, now 4. Liv shared,

I really look up to Gwyneth. If I ever have a question about something, it’s always 911-Gwyneth! She has the best advice.

Milo’s father is Royston Langdon.

I read somewhere that Gywneth gave her advice regarding working on her relationship with her husband instead of separating. I hope that’s true….too often marriages break apart without really working on it. Either way I wish her the best!
