Whether or not you’re a parent who believes in TV, portable DVD players are perfect for long flights and car trips. We’ve been using the Audiovox Kids 6.2" DVD Player($99) for the last few months and it’s eliminated a lot of demands for "uppy uppy!" One bonus of this model is that thebuttons are on the top so younger children will be less likely to messaround with them. Bring a movie your child loves and maybe a new one. Don’t forget child-sized headphones like these from iFrogz ($8), which will fit her smaller keppe better.
If you have a video iPod, kid-proof it by putting it in an iFrogz Tadpole Wrapz($20), which has handles for your child to hold and watch any movie you’ve uploaded to it. Foran additional $5, you can get an optional protective sheet oftransparent plastic that lays overthe screen, protecting the iPod from scratching and wear and tear,further kid-proofing it.

Just a recommendation – I have an iFrogz wrap for my iPod (just a regular one, not with handles) and it is GREAT. Two years, no scratches or damage to my iPod.

We bought the same DVD players as mentioned above for our 3 children for a road trip next month….well they are already watching them in their rooms and LOVE them!!!

We purchased that same portable dvd player last month for our road trip to Pennsylvania. It was wonderful! It is very easy to operate and the picture is good. Definitely a great investment!
